At this point, they should just mimic ps1 PES games gameplay and make the visuals look on par with current gen graphics. At least the gameplay will be decent that way and they can improve upon it over the years. The shitty gameplay that I've seen on the footage here is a disgrace.

I genuinely played a PS1 patch of the 2026 World Cup more often than this, despite it being a button away on my smart TV. It's not the worst thing in the world, but indeed it's pretty weak, and even if it played like that, the lack of a real controller brings it down I think, touchscreen controls work and they're alright here, but a proper controller with an analog stick and buttons to press is just superior.
