Not many in here. But if faces of players from one of the best teams in the world look crap, that means less known players will look even worse, not to mention generic ones. Add to it their out of shape bodies and overall experience might fall flat on its arse. The whole immersion, presentation and in-game cutscenes will be spoiled by this.

Im one of the last people who would pay attention to faces. I recently said faces in Pes13 were good enough and there is no need to put so many resources and focus into that.
But Fifa models looked and still look crap and there is no progress in this department for donkeys years now.
 
Uuuurgh i have to admit that i love everything about the pitch notes, but obviously doesn't mean anything if it plays bad.
I really don't want to buy both PES and FIFA, my head spins when i switch around because of the huge difference in gameplay and controls. I was 90% sure it will be PES for 2020, why did they have to release such good pitch notes? :R1:DD

Sorry for slight off topic, but dont rush with any of them this year.
The way Pes look and even the way how it will play in the demo says fuck all about final product.
Same goes to Fifa pitch notes, that look great on paper and might all be scrapped by week 1 patch.
I'd wait a while with both, following carefully people opinions in here.
 
Of course Gameplay is boss here.
But I do care about the visual aspects as well.

It looks way cooler when we "oh, I don't give a beep about faces or graphics, I only care about the gameplay" but they go hand in hand. I need both areas to be improved massively from version to version. And I'm getting quite tired of feeling like I need to justify myself if I want to talk about graphics or the visual side of the game, like it's something superficial or shallow.

So @Lons if it's ok with you, I'm going to keep talking and posting screenshots of graphics-related stuff, as much as I do with the gameplay ones. Hope you don't mind...

I see your point, but i've been buying the newst football game on Day 1 for the past 20 years. I don't think i could bring myself to wait tbh, especially if the Pre-Order-bonus for PES is 1000 MyClub-coins, which is 10€ in itself. On FIFA i don't care as much since i don't open packs with real money anymore(shamefully have to admit i've spent around 8000€ in the past 9 years).

Oh they definitly do and they are sweating bullets because of all the gambling discussions. They would lose so much money if everyone follows Belgium.

That's a shame man. People are free to spend their money how they please, That's their choice as consenting adults but i can't believe anyone who could argue that they're getting value out of this, That's what makes it so unethical. Game devs have a duty of responsibility just like gambling companies to ensure their customers understand what their doing with their money and that they're spending money healthy and responsibly.

Not that they could give a shit. They should make the game free to play at the very least. They know people around the world are manipulated year in year out to spend not only real world money on virtual assets, But waaay too much of it. You don't even get to carry your investments over the following year. What a complete slap in the face.

Of course its not problem but this faces porn is too much for me. This stupid scaning etc. I want play good football game and faces are not important for me. Stadia are important indeed but faces definitely not.

Faces and most importantly player models are also a big part of the visual enjoyment these days with the technology we have.Even if the animations are the best ever(which they're not cause we're talking about twitchy Fifa),good player models can make them look even better or worse.So it plays a big part.
Also they have different people working on these things,so it's not an excuse to say that if one department looks good then the other one could look average.Everyone should deliver the best they can on anything they work on.
With the money that EA has they should be able to have almost every player having a real face and correct body structure in the game.But instead only the PL,La Liga and maybe this year Bundesliga get attention.Most of other leagues and teams look shambolic.In general they have less real faces in the game than Pes ffs.A game with 10 times or even more smaller budget than them.
 
The pitch note is very interesting, I really hope we can feel this on screen.

I really love FIFA 16 and 17. Ball physics were way better than FIFA 18/19.

Good player models can be create without scaning.Pes team improved that many times. Body scaning EA make it for years and still player models looks average. Its mean scaning is not so important. Mechanics and pshysics are the most important. Do you see faces from angele camera? Nah. Konami should invest more in animations system and physics rather than scaning faces. They should know what is priority. They still has problem make proper 360* degree.

That really doesnt justify full price for new edition. Unless their Career Mode changes are massive.. and even with that - if they dont get the basics right, if im to play another season with 10 free kicks overall - ill pass.

Every football game for the last 10 years is just a roster update and people still buy them by the bucket load

To some extent, yes.
But they were actually showing the exact same moves and same situations in the trailer, making it seem like they were all brand new. It's alarming. And what's even more alarming is that most of us fell for it.

I wish they’d leave that damn clunky Frostbite Engine.

I’ve been playing FIFA 16 today and the Ignite Engine just worked. Snappy menus, the matches flow like a classic PES game but with better visuals and content etc.

FIFA has been horrible since moving over to Frostbite IMO.

Coming around? I’ve always said it.

Fifa was turning into a great football game - 14, 15 and then 16 were all extremely enjoyable experiences in their own ways. I spent many hours on all of them in single player alone, then even more hours online.

Then FIFA 17 happened and it’s been shite since.
 
Anyone think EA delayed the career news because they hadn't got any to begin with but the backlash from losing Juventus has kicked them into action to actually add something ?
