Pretty much my initial thought as well.
To bad ,I wonder how much EA loses on having older games up ,can't be more than your average coffe + biscuit at your local coffe shop?
I mean it's pretty much just us wanting to play them.
Bad move.
I think it depends on your circumstances - I know in certain countries, a game (certainly a legitimate copy) costs an absolute fortune, so you find old versions of games being played for years and years. When those guys are cut off, either they find a way to play a pirated version or they just stop playing your games altogether.

I guess if in 100 people playing say Fifa 16 or whatever online with a friend they turn 1 to play 22 by closing it all up, it's probably worth all the same to them

Yeah that's obviously a take on it as well.
Still think it's a shit move by EA.
Only reason I got EA access 4 years ago was to play older games ,now I don't really have any reason to have it tbh ,it's bundled in my game pass so it's still a service I can use ,but the EA part of my game pass is looking more and more like my old horrible (and mean) ex gf.
Think I'll step down from my ultimate to a game pass for console if the EA part is getting less and less attractive

It's obviously designed to push people to the latest game , especially tw the MX part of new games.
EA made a cool billion dollar on FUT and whatever Madden's version of it is called (FIFA 20/Madden 20)

This is getting removed from game pass/EA play soon.
Not sure what EA is up to?
They removed 15/16/17/18 earlier this year ,are they getting rid of all their back log?
Or just trying to push their newer games down our throats?
They are preparing the replacement of Origin with EA Desktop. They aren't interested in porting all of their old games to EA Desktop, so they're slowly removing them from EA Play. This way there won't be a huge outcry when they finally stop offering EA Play on Origin.

Even if I see it coming by miles at this point, I'd still be beyond mad if I'd lose my Origin catalogue from a day to another. Well even if it's incredibly difficult after all this years, if the worse ever comes, I just hope somebody finds a way to crack these games. Guess I can't resign to this "just play the latest game and shut up" thing, it's beyond bullshit.

I have been getting used to FIFA again with this version vs new flatmate. Will say fuck it and buy FIFA 22 on PC aĺong with everything else I have planned. I cannot be fucked with a PS5 yet. Just dont play games enough to warrant it.

FIFA 19 works well with good sativa in day, indica at times but I found fun in leveling the skill gap up with 'no rules'.

I love how I have to perfectly skin him to score, any failure of mastery and I'm hacked

I found so much similarity with FIFA 14 to be honest which was the last year I really hammered FIFA due to PES 2014 being broken. Been nice to score strictly beautifulmover the top goals again, fun football.

I've been playing a lot of FIFA 14/16 & PES 17 the last 6 months.

However, I had this sitting installed and yesterday spent some time tinkering.

First of all, I totally edited Villa so they have their current squad. I'd say 80% of the players were on the game, I had to edit some of their stats to make them a bit better (Ramsey was 55 rated 😂) and then I created players like Duran, Rogers, Onana etc...)

I've changed the sliders quite drastically. Shot speed is at 55, line height 80, line width 25 amongst others.

The shot speed allows for some screamers and it is good to see it doesn't mean every shot is hit at 100mph. I scored a lovely goal with Bailey which looked very realistic and similar to one I've seen him score IRL. Played the ball low across the edge of the box, he beat his man to it and first time it a low, left drive into the corner of the net, it looked & felt brilliant.

Line height makes the Midfield more compact and allows some space in behind which we see more and more these days. Also watching real footy I noticed how often the full backs tuck in to a more narrow shape. Making the width 25 does reflect this, and means you can switch play or find a free man on the wing, but doesn't take the full back totally out the game.

I played about 8 friendly games yesterday and enjoyed them all. The AI mixes their play up, a nice variety of long balls, possession play, crosses and long range shooting. I think the most goals in 1 game was a 3-1 win for me against some rubbish Irish team.

I never do a career mode as Villa but will be starting one on here. I spent the friendlies testing the players I had to create. I've nailed Morgan Rogers - strong, agile and can beat 2 or 3 players but not Messi-esque. Duran I've given high shot power to and getting it to him in space 25-30 yards out is constant temptation to unleash but as of yet I've not scored with him. Closest was one that fizzed past the post. I upgraded Pau Torres so he can bring the ball out of defence and pick a pass. He is a joy to use.

I've also found I can play keep ball, much like Emery has us doing IRL. I had one move where the AI pressed me. I played a very risky ball with Digne back to Martinez. It just missed their pressing striker, but allowed space to then play it into Konsa. With the fact the AI had committed the press towards my LB area it opened up the pitch. Konsa to McGinn, switched out to Rogers, inside to Tielemans and then a through ball to Watkins which I shanked wide. It was great to see how quick I went from slowing the game, keeping the ball to then exploiting the space in a sweeping move which I should of scored but I watched the replay about 6 times.

Oh and finally I scored from my own half with Pau Torres 😂 I had the ball, saw Bailey making a move in behind and tried to play a L2 long pass. Instead the ball flew straight towards their goal, the GK back peddling and got a hand to it but it went in. I recorded it on my phone, I'll see if I can upload later.

Looking forward to this about time I did a Villa career.

Went to a used vinyl/bookstore today and discovered that they had a lot of games as well, picked up FIFA 19 (Xbox one) for €3 and popped it in and picked up one of my careers from way back.
Hull city player career and I had a lot of fun playing Vs Sheffield W.

The last good Fifa for me and är up right a very good game.
10 min ULT difficultly krebstars sliders (modified) and semi/manual shooting/passing.
