Yeah that second goal felt a bit like one of those pes scripted goals.
I really dominated the things until the 60 min of the game. They have many slow players at the back which could not cope with the pace of my attackers. I thought that the rock they have between the posts will break soon enough. But has we reached the last 30mins, my players started to be tired and pace was not working like it did before. With Naiggolan ruling the midfield they started to put the head out of the water for the end you know now.

As you said it gives me a reason to continue this career (I could find many others though) and I have found the new toy to bring in my team :)
 
Think I've posted this before but was just looking at my vids and want to post again.

This moment looked and felt so fluid. The way she gets ping-ponged by the two defenders and how the animations are totally believable, and how the blending from the first on-going 'stumbling, almost-falling-down' animation from the first hit is seamless with it's transition to the second hit.

If you slow the video down .25 speed from the 18-22 second mark you can actually see the slight thigh collision which causes this seamless animation. IT LOOKS SO GOOD! And even the hit before that in which my player steps on the opponents fots and loses her balance - it isn't some scripted stumble animation pulled from a small handful os stumble animations, here she noticably doesn't make the next step with her left foot (which got caught in a tangle) and instead of has to stumble onto her right foot just to keep her balance and stay standing. Beautiful!

This level of fluidity and dynamism in physical collision has not been achieved since the move to Frostbite engine.

^ and also the ref actually detects the collision and rightly gives you the penalty.
Refs are quite good in this game and their personalities variations are welcomed too. When you get a picky one you know you better time well your challenges.
 
Instead of flooding the FIFA 16 discussion thread, I figured I’d follow @El Pajaro and make a new 16 thread, but mainly focus on the visuals of the game.

Like myself, I think most people are pretty disappointed with FIFA 21’s gameplay and are wanting a good football game to focus on. I can’t think of a better game to do this with than 16. Lots of us know how great the gameplay is, so I wanted to show how good 16 can actually look with the right tweaks and with the latest mods.

Have any mods removed the horrid 'turn brightness down when there is sun' effect in this game? Apart from some matches being hard to see, I have zero problems with this 5 year old game's graphics. Still looks great.
 
thanks for starting this thread. i'm considering getting back into fifa 16, having come to the realisation that it might be impossible to make fifa 20's gameplay enjoyable! as others have said before, all of the frostbite fifas have felt a bit 'off', mainly when it comes to defending (at least in my view). i did enjoy 17 but there aren't many mods for that unfortunately... i also remember my first fifa 16 career mode and it being near impossible to score with my terrible League Two players—which is the way it should be!

my favourite thing to do on fifa is 'road to glory' career mode. do you know of any fifa 16 mods that make it possible to do that on 16 with an updated database?

i've seen a thread on soccergaming explaining how to convert the 19 db to 16, so was going to try that. but just wondered if someone has already done it

Do you mean when everything is over exposed at times? I actually find when the sun is quite bright in certain afternoon matches it looks quite good, but I'm using my own reshade on it, so possibly is different from default.

Agree frostbite FIFA's have felt 'off'. I spent quite a while trying to mod FIFA 20 a few months back, and despite enjoying aspects of the game, there's a few things fundamentally broken which destroy it for me. I'm not sure about the ability to add those modes in via DB, I'd imagine not.

The easiest way to play with a close to up to date database is to use a all in one patch such as FIP. Moddingway one is older but the overall graphical content and tournament possibilities are much much richer.

Argentina-Uruguay penalties.

This is the worst part of FIFA 16 (and every other football game as well). Penalties is a super exciting event, full of emotion. Yet we can't see any face expressions, no replays of the kicks, no coach reactions, no crowd reactions... nothing. It goes on super fast like a stupid arcade game from the eighties. Why can't we slow down the pace and capture something from the dramatic event to these games?

Really amazing screens! I am running a RTX 2070 GPU and an i7 6700k CPU, can make close every game with reshade or tweaks look great. But to tweak the newer Frostbite Engine Fifa´s the same way becomes a pain in my ass compare to the Fifa 16 graphic tweak possibilities! The newer the Fifa game the worser comes it in terms of graphic to be clear and crisp. There was some reshade Presets on sfxTheLazy website for newer Fifa´s but I might remember there are zero for Fifa 20 at least.
I am willing to try a new Period of my Fifa 16 comebacks after I discover the "Gameplay settings" thread from El Pajaro. You both decisions to open several threads are golden! I didn´t find specific things in the popular "Discussion" thread. Cause I am to lazy to read down 230 Pages of it. :-)
I mostly take content from Soccergaming forum and Moddingway.
@Anth James It would be very appreciate if you post your reshade and graphic tweak settings and mods please! Your screens give me the last impulse to take a look in my Fifa 16 Installation on my dusty HDD where Retro games are lurking. :-)
Just kidding, not yet a Retro game, but if EA produce further "shit bite" engine games, than I guess when I look back in 10 years it´s still Fifa 16 that we remember with all that new engine stuff which most likely get improved in this decade. If it get even better again, I don´t know.

Mate, you can check out "IMStudio" mods. This guy only post "newer" DB´s of some popular Fifa 16 Patches only at Moddingway! I remember the last time when I roll back to Fifa 16, I guess it was Spring 2019, I found his work useful. I remember I could grab a newer DB for Moddingway Patch, but of course I don´t know how the State is present. And like the other guys here already mentioned the FIP seems to be up to date. If Ariel from Moddingway could come back to work, I guess this would be the greatest Patch for Fifa 16 in present. The current Moddingway mod is still a bomb when it comes to graphics and content like Tournaments and switches to them. I guess I will start with this one for my Fifa 16 comeback. In that case it doesn´t matter for me if the Database is 4 or 5 years old, cause in that way I can play again with Ribery and Robben at Bayern Munich, which is the team I support.

EDIT: The IMStudio mods Site are dead related to any new Fifa 16 DB. I checked it right now. But the FIP 16 with it newest version 3.2 from 12.09.2020 are a in the first row! ;-)

This should help get you set up like my game. I'm running the FIP 19/20 patch but I've added added new kits and made lots of manual transfers just to get me through until the 20/21 patch is released.

Will do. With reshade menu I guess I can optimize it for my screen. If not I ask you. I am playing on a 4k Samsung TV. If you are playing on a Monitor, yeah than it looks different. :)) I previously had some really good results with the graphic mods from Jeets mod. But not like your screens. I also tried some Reshade Presets without tweaking by myself. I will install everything from your suggestions later when I start Fifa 16. When I am able to manage it looking good I will upload some screenshots here. Than can you see if I was successful or not. :D
