Champions League
There is always a time when I come back to this game. May be it is the EAFC25 gimmick about tactics that drove me to it this time. Tactics do work and matter in this game. It is probably the last FIFA where tactics and player roles were properly implemented. It can feel clunky at times and a bit unresponsive, but boy it plays really well for a 10 yo game. In 16 you can create a lot of chances using dribbling. Here it is much harder to dribble around players, therefore it is more of a passing game which I really like. The AI is really good too, playing an entertaining attacking game, where possession is used to create chance instead of passing the ball at the back like it is a bit too much in 16. I still think 16 is superior because of its physicality and great responsiveness when on the ball (it also looks better). I do prefer the ball physics of 14 (at least the look of it) with ground passes and when shooting.
My perfect footy game would be a combination of 14 for the tactical side (players positioning included), the attacking AI and of 16 for the on the ball control and the physicality (and great referee system).
Here is a short video showing random/unpredictable moments of the last minute of a game I played tonight. I particularly like the 3 heading passes the CPU players do. I think have never seen anything like that in a footy game.
