None of my mates can score them and i aint seen any scored online so they are not easy

For me they are just like the PES free kicks back on the PS2 so i took to them like a duck to water. I guess you just have to have the knack of it

I can score 99/100 in the arena, but it's different on the pitch I find...

I think they are way too easy.

It's probably because if you aim in the same place, apply the same power and curl you will get the exact same resultant shot... This means that when people get to know what puts the ball right in the top corner they will put 9/10 free kicks there (-1/10 for an occasional error in power)...
