I have one question:

Do players still take ages to respond to an L1+Triangle pass? Sometimes when you use this to take the ball over the defence (mainly through the middle) and the striker is close to the goal he will take a long time to respond giving the keeper enough time to collect it.

Also, do players still use the scissor-kick in an exaggerated manner? Especially from outside the box, this happens often when a volley would have sufficed.

I was the absolute don on PES6 for freekicks but they have completely ruined them on next gen for me. I remember the first freekick I had on 2008 where I middled the power gauge and it ballooned harmlessly over.

If I want to smash a freekick from distance I push the analogue stick forward and add curve with the d-pad. Fair enough it is a smash so you expect pot luck but you get radically different results from the exact same input. It is no longer intuitive at this point.

I can do ALL of the variants but the success rate is so dreadfully low that it is a rare event to see one go in. Please bare in mind this is mostly from my MLO experience but when in training I haven't found it to be too much of an improvement.

My issue is that some of the absolute best players in the world just cannot take freekicks in this game. Gerrard is way too haphazard and many other players are as good as the ML default team - it's ridiculous.
 
Some of these have probably been asked...

1. How "individual" do the players feel, compared to 2011?
2. What are the gameplay settings when it comes to manual play? The same or something added (manual crosses without extra button press what I would most like)
3. Can you still barge the ball of the other team simply by running alongside them without any additional button input?
4. Is "hold up defense" (I hope I remember that right) better implemented? Because I for one never used it and I have played hundreds of PES 2011 hours.
 
im back with some things from pes 2011 id like you to look out for in the pes 2012 playtest

1st thing is passes out wide to wingers where the winger doesnt seem to register that the ball is coming towards him and it usually goes out for a throw

next thing is similiar, this time the ball is caught between 2 players with the intended target not knowing that the ball is arriving

next up is automatic ai control whereby the ai takes over controlling your player in different situations,in this one the player im in control of(diego) heads the cross into the goal without me pressing a button

now to the kick out bug that ive noticed,if the opposing teams takes a kick out or free kick from their goal area and you can position your midfieder in front of the ai midfielder you will win the ball 100% of the time by holding the R2 trap button,even players like xavi can win the ball against someone like fellaini

now onto goalkeepers,couple of things ive noticed is this bad save animation

some misc things now we all know about,sami hyppia here beating mario gotze in a foot race despite gotze having a head start

and last but not least here is bakary sagna freezing on me to let drogba in to score an easy goal,dodgy player switching i couldnt change to the man on the line until it was too late

some pics here now, some of the ai formations you play against in ML are strange here is one i came across, also the arrow system in the ML is crap that most of the time your players are purple and blue even though in my case my team was going well in the league and had the best fitness coach

ok hope theres enough there for you to look at,all of the games ive tested those things on where on top player in ML with liverpool and exibition games

But why is saving by legs unrealistic mate? In real life keepers when 1 on 1 try blocking using any part of their body. Unless you mean something different?

I think he means GK making this stupid animation in allot of situations which its better to stop the ball by hand.
 
I'd like to know Lami if there is still an issue with Player Switching when you play a Manual long pass. Hopefully they have sorted that side of it. In PES 2011, and Fifa, as Rom stated, there seems to be an issue with the programming where the engine doesnt always acknowledge that type of pass. Would be nice to know if that has been rectified.
 
Does the game use rumble?

If not, can you ask them why they don't make use if it, cheers.
 
I'd be very interested to know if anything has been done with the manual replay system, it drives me nuts on 2011, so hard to get a good angle for watching back goals or recording the footage.....the old manual replay system was so much better :(
 
I'll second that, I can't make a decent replay going on because of these dumb, stuck to the ground cameras... Konami do have this weird habit of fixing things that aren't broke
 
What's the percentage of situations when the keeper lands on his belly after a save?
How are the passing animations?
Does it still happen for one player to use his interior of the foot for a pass that can't be
done like that in real life? (sort of unnatural way of passing and unnantural ball
direction - this was in pes 2011, sometimes)

could you check the L1 chip shot to see if has been fixed,ive found its not been as effective on next gen pes as it was in ps2 pes

Good.

I quite like how chipping works in PES 2011. If you want to chip you have to slow right down and/or make sure the keeper is well away from his goal (i.e the gk is having to race back to his goal after coming out of his area). There's nothing more i'd hate than to see a Fifa 10-esque ability to sprint at full speed and lob a keeper who doesn't happen to be standing on his line. Sure it looks great but chipping shouldn't be overly effective IMO.

I like the concept as well with chips just the ball doesn't loop high enough man!
 
Okay i feel the need to bring here..

1. medium.long ground pass
Lami, if you look at supposedly long/medium ground pass situation in E3 code of PESrankings' vid, there is a common occasion where the ball does slighlty fly from a player and bounce once just exactly before/near the receiving players foot.i thought it will brings some concern on the game flow.

Q# Do you see this ground pass if it is still the case in the code you are playing later ?.

2. Keeper animation
In 2011, in penalty, when he got cheated he still make a complete dive/save as if the ball is sent to the direction where he goes to. In PES 6 we can see, "being cheated dives" :P where we can tell that the keeper is aware that he jumps to the wrong way.

Q# Which one is the case in your playtest ?
Q# and would you ask them to go back to PES 6 "being cheated dives" if that is not the case ? :SMUG:

The problem with chips is that for the most part you can only score them by maxing out the power bar and chipping from the same position every time (the edge of the box or so). It's the same sort of problem PES had before PES 5 (I think) where you could max the shot power and then tap R1 to hit a perfect lob from 20 yards out or so, except it's not quite as bad now. L1 lobs were useless by comparison.

What the L1 lob needs is not particularly for it to loop higher, but for the maximum distance it can cover to be far greater, so that the player has to judge the weight based on where he is rather than know exactly where on the pitch to hit a max power lob.

True.

We also need a 'Scoop' animation for both L1 lobs from a standing position and an option for a standing 'Scooped' lob through-ball. It's quite criminal that this particular technique and relevant animation has been missing from PES since Day 1. How on earth they have missed this for all these years is beyond me.

Yeah that's true. Looking back i was only talking about the difficulty of lob shots rather than any aspects of the trajectory involved - which i think leaves a lot to be desired. It's been a while since i played PES so i want to ask whether or not players lob with the side of their foot or is it strictly getting it on the end of your toe and lifting it straight?

This is the kind of animation (i.e off the side of his foot) and trajectory (back spin) i'd like to see - albeit not too often.
 
i forgot that it needs on the fly tactics,ie when you move a player from say RM to LM the ball has to go out of play before the player will switch position. maybe theyve fixed it so that the players will move positions automatically. this also is a problem with changing formations as everything only changes once the balls goes out of play,could you check this in the playtest
 
just one question:

if 2 mates want to play a full 32-nations-world-cup and i want to be one team (say england) and my friend wants to be another team (say turkey). so england goes to e.g. group 1 in the world cup, turkey to e.g. group 5. when the tournament starts, the first game is played with england against any other team that is in group 1. so i controll england, my friend wants to controll the other team from group 1. that was possible until pes 2007 but not anymore - i have to play against any team from group 1 alone, the CPU controlling the other team, not my friend!

second game is the first game for turkey, which plays against any team from group 5. same problem here: you can only controll turkey with player one, not the team turkey is playing against with player two.

i know the whole thing is difficult to explain, but if you do your cup with 2 players (but actually 8 teams), you not only have to play the games involving england and turkey but also every other match that will take places between the 8 teams (and we are not really interested in games that takes place between teams other than england or turkey - in earlier versions of pes the other results of all the other games (non-english, non-turkey) were not played by the players but the CPU presented us the results at the end of each round).

was i able to make myself clear? i know its difficult to explain..
 
Yep. Many of us have this same problem too. You're pretty clear :)
 
Has the infuriating sliding shooting animation been removed?

Also can you look out for the types of players that take up a position in the box when you have a corner.

I'm playing right now and Ibagaza (smallest guy on the pitch) somehow held off a much bigger defender and scored a header. IRL he wouldn't be inside the box.

Do defenders still go out of there way to clear the ball out for a corner, even if you trying to clear it up the pitch? Yes i know the AI is trying to avoid me taking a risk, but thats the point.. it's MY RISK!.

If i wanna try and boot it up the pitch but i end up kicking in the face of an oppositition player in my box that causes an almighty scramble that leads to a goal, then thats my fault. Better then conceding from a corner you didn't even wanna try to give away any day.

Also, are Goalkeepers still unresponive when they are holding the ball (before you decide to dropkick, throw or drop the ball at feet)?

Yes, i know what you mean :)

I have that issue when playing PES with ma bro. We have to select all 32 teams when we are doing the champions League tournament, rather than select 4-5 of them and just play against eachover.
