I am not sure about this. Because what do you realistically get with the Fifa Name?

EA will do enough advertising so that everyone will know that the EA Sports FC game is the former Fifa Game.

So what is the Fifa License really worth? So that some people who might not know buy a Fifa 24 thinking it is the game they always bought? Because that is all the license is.

It doesn't mean any players or leagues. That is why Fifas demands are so ridiculous. It is not like the NBA license where you get the teams.

So why should someone pay this high amount of money for something that doesn't gain them anything.

Didn't realise that , so the new ea game could still have the same official leagues , players and stadiums
 
I think losing FIFA license might actually be a good thing, in a sneaky way.
Many people, especially in here, are used to the fact that last couple of years FIFA was copy/paste.
Coming out under new banner can "trick" people into thinking that they will finally make some significant changes and many more can buy this out of curiosity.
How significant the changes are - we shall see.
Now, we can continue this chat in F23 thread, coz its getting a little bit off-topicky here.
And Im sure there is a lot to talk about here when it comes to eFootball.. (winky smiley face..)
 
This tweet is so bush league of them. When you win 4 games in a row, it means you won 4 CONSECUTIVE games. Draws don't count as wins. Last week, Man Utd drew against Crystal Palace. Do these fucking guys even know how to count? Man Utd already WON 5 games in a row prior to drawing against Crystal Palace last week. Man Utd were UNBEATEN in their last 7 games before losing to Arsenal today. That should have been their tweet.

FFS, it's like they hired a monkey to run their twitter account. Either that, or they just simply do not give a flying fuck about their sponsored teams or anything football related. AAA company that makes a game to be all about simulating football should know almost everything about the sponsored teams that they have in the game. Next time if you are going to post a tweet about how many wins or losses Man Utd or Arsenal have, at least know the exact amount of many matches they've won or loss. 🤦‍♂️

This adds to the concern many of us have with the last shit update we seen since the world cup campaign finished. Durandi made a good point that many of the leagues featured in this game are very unhappy with the current situation as what is the point of even having all these leagues if there is zero incentive to use any of their players since everyone has been either given free legends, Messi and free 90+ rated superstars to use online. Their social media team aren't even following real world football properly which shows a huge lack of care and professionalism.

I have a bad feeling even when something offline arrives many of these partnerships may have already gone off since these leagues that have signed up with Konami are getting less than no love, straight up disrespect like all of us offline players have felt.

I haven't played this game in months, but is this still a thing in the game in 2023? If so... then wow!

And people wonder why folks me continue to shit on this game. I've watched those who play this game say the current version has more issues than the previous one.

Its the potential that kills me if I'm honest. We would be in a far better position for feedback and the road ahead if we actually at the very least offline tournaments and leagues with edit mode. At least we could enjoy the game offline with friends or vs the AI in our own time. Everything is so much about online and they and the game is sadly becoming a rudderless FIFA clone in which the casual player wants everything easy which explains this bipolar gameplay experience.

One week you play with 'possession game' even with an experimental 3-4-3 all out possession attack diamond system i won one game 2-0 i think or 3-0 having 70% possession and literally 25 shots or something mad vs a decent player. A week later after live update i can barely win for shit vs average and crap players using the same system since they shifted the gameplay back to heavily favor noob quick counter ping pong spam passing.

Currently and this happened just before the last big gameplay update Konami completely nerfed the chip shot, so now you can only effectively do a shoot chip shot over a diving grounded keeper. This pisses me off greatly as this isn't about improving core issues or the all round game, this is blatantly from kids moaning about being lobbed so easy crying 'Chip shots are OP" So Konami break the entire thing altogether so you can only use it in one instance.. Chipped shots aren't too easy and never have been the core problem. the issue is how basic the tactics system is and how end to end many games are which present many one on one situations. The game really does not have a clear path forward anymore.

I didn't celebrate a goal on this game online or offline for the last week as even winning i felt nothing, no joy, just emptiness for this still sadly shell of a game.

Yes. It's like Champion's League licence : you got the right to use the representation of Champion's league.
Libertadores can be brought with a full package aswell as AFC Champion's league, different rules.

EA never got their licence and exclusivity thanks to FIFA (perhaps a little help from them, pressure on League owner or things like that but positive... No ones know). Like one question i was asking myself and many of us have i believe : does FIFA influenced or given instruction to EA regarding gameplay and all?
With restrictions or enlarge the public (game for kid)? I hope yes.
Efootball just needed a new director in chief for that lol, the mentality is not rebels at all even they disagree with the plan.

I believe only World Cup and Euro can gives you access to all participating teams with real players names, kits and stadiums

...But in reality, it's more the FIFA association who needs a game to represents them than the opposite.
No games needs FIFA except if it's fully and only World Cup focused. But any game can brought the licence every 4 years without switching their name to "Fifa X 2036"

I don't know if they influence gameplay but I heard that they did influence some elements of what can be in the game. They even hinted at it themselves with not being able to have certain brands more prominent in the game but my guess is it also influenced other parts.

Me personally for example was always wondering why PES was having flares in the stands for South American football and a more rowdier crowd. Not having the Fifa License could be an answer to that.

Well nowadays efootballs doesn't even use that advantage anymore :D
 
Yes i'm aware that in terms of marketing they aren't above EA but surely dicacte the tempo, about what partner they want or not.
Now i'm talking about gameplay. And i hope they influenced in BAD Fifa gameplay since years... But i sincerely don't thrust it.

PES is very popular in South America since a long time, there's countless patches on PS2 and everyday there's a new one.
Well, as Fifa now "cutted the herb under PES feet" (french expression) by recolting all related to South America from league to Copa Libertadores, all CONMEBOL, Efootball is now trying to keep the most popular league in South America but for the first time they're bringing 2 CONCACAF leagues.

Fifa sells a bit more in South America on FIFA 22, but not that much on the sequel : they want PES, PS2 or PS4 it's their second religion. They play like we played with friends at the time, especially in poor village etc. on PS2 since 20 years.

MLS have became pretty popular all around the world as it's looking like a special league and not as easy as we think. And Liga MX is on the top 3 of the strongest league in America with Argentina and Brasileirao/including their second divisions.

I'm suppose the future (it there's one) will be Concacaf Champion's league, or Costa Rica league, Liga MX D2 clubs, more nations perhaps i don't know...

To be honest i'm even sad that they bring league i got interest on it and created each year (MLS or MX and J-League finally) but on an awful "service" system game, not a full one. I imagine all we could do on Master League with all those teams and i want to punch Kimura and his partner like Kenshiro (Watatatatata)

They did not nerf the chip shot but rather added a new "dink chip" animation when you are close to the goalkeeper...Now the problem is that the AI which selects the animation is not coded precisely so sometimes when you are far off from the goalkeeper instead of a lobbed chip shot it produces that dink chip shot which is obviously incorrect choice for that particular situation..

Sincerely, i got no idea if they're restricted regarding divulgation etc., but it's too much talk for nothing, or no talk at all.
Those guys are "community managers" from the name of their job. Perhaps they know it's already dead if they purpose anything to the Efootball/PES bosses such as Kimura with blinders on and earplugs.
 
Seems bizzare there are two outcomes linked to the same command, surely the sensible thing is just link it to the amount of power applied
 
Even when offline content is coming, how is this gonna work?
Do we pay for licensed/unlicensed leagues separately or do we pay for the league or cup mode and all the teams that are in the database:..?
Honestly I think we will never have a PES experience with Konami holding back so many things that are already created
It is so sad because the base potential for modding is so much better than it was for PES 2021

So they try to enhance the game with this but ended up breaking it completley.

Typical.

This game has once again reverted back into being a shambles. I actually felt better 12 months ago when it was total laughable garbage compared to now with such wasted potential currently.
 
They're pretty silent about modes, even possible online modes... I don't believe they found some free hours to build an ML.

More seriously @H_G i believe it will be the same system than DreamTeam in training (which is, let's admit it, more advanced than every game they did before).
So i don't think stats will be different than they're already in the database, changing every players is a time loss + they already got a recyclable system to train players so... I'm 99.9% sure NO.

Now about transfers, i think it will be simplistic. I don't think there will be a "story" like on older PES.
Well i never been a fan of "movies" style, but more something written like in FM, or Career mode in older Fifa.
No idea if price will be related to transfermarkt, i don't think they are in Efootball so..

It was shitty in my opinion regarding player who get their values with their calculations mixed with players with a certain date TM value. No need that level of details to have fun : just price ressembling a bit to the real ones. I remember that TM value players where stronger but their price in comparison to any created or player without Transfermarkt were at least 1/3 or 1/4 less expensive for the same stats.

Also some rewards if you won X cup etc., with automatic save, to brought players. So people will brought player on ML to do the same on Dreamteam lol.

One thing that could, i said "could", make me try that game one day is an ML, but without regen. It will be hard to enter in that LSD casino world but at least giving a bit or money to try, when i see how much stuff which serves me to nothing i brought ftm...
