Exactly this. There are certain things the animation engine and hypermotion will never achieve until it has been evolved. Things like smoothness of animation, better IK, physical based animation and transition, inertia/momentum, ice skating sliding, etc. I have given up hope on that since FIFA 19. The problem is, there are other things that are much easier to fix and port from older games. Things like the FIFA 17 formations/tactics system. FIFA 17's CPU attacking AI, and in general, CPU AI that isn't braindead is more trivial to fix then replacing game engine/animation engine. And even then, EA doesn't do crap. All the stuff the gameplay team and the authentic team have achieved in FC 27 would have just taken someone like Paul or Anth a week to complete and maybe 2 weeks at most. I am not even joking. I can bet my life savings on that. Which begs the question, what else did the gameplay team/authentic team do for 6 months? Surely EA won't employ them to do nothing, especially in this economy. I think they were moved to work on the random fall guys mini games for the open world mode. One of the biggest problems with reading differing opinions on the game lies in the endless number of variables with the control settings now..back in the day we were all doing the same thing on a level playing field (minus maybe fuma) but now with all the other changes it's hard to know who's playing what and it's hard to know what to believe.
I said it the other day, the whole engine isn't bult to be slowed down (aka authentic) it's built to be fast. They're never going to be able to make it what it needs to be. The post I read about AI not attacking or having shots, it's really bad. And you have to live loads of these lies now just to try and enjoy a game. It's been that way with for years with fouls. There's some games I have on FC26 authentic at the moment that we would have laughed at in terms of AI in the early 90s. When the CPU only ever go so far forward and then just turn around and pass it backwards.
It's been so long since football was a focus unfortunately. As usual it's talking about the icing before the sponge is correct.
To be fair to EA. They would have a whole bunch of people deciding whether tweaking value X or Y is good and whether they would get complaints about it. So they are playing it safe, VERY safe. And even then, EA doesn't do crap. All the stuff the gameplay team and the authentic team have achieved in FC 27 would have just taken someone like Paul or Anth a week to complete and maybe 2 weeks at most.
Yeah I agree with you, I definitely think the official process makes it more difficult - and I think also less intuitive as a result. To be fair to EA. I can't speak for Anth, but myself, I make the gameplay to suit me and just share it. A lot of people don't like my gameplay!!! So imagine the bad language and feedback I get but on a much larger level for EA!
Mainly because your GP mods have never been flashy in terms of presentation—they lack all those exaggerated marketing buzzwords like 'ultra' or 'ultimate'—and also because you haven't specifically reduced the ice-skating effect, which gives people a poor first impression.I can't speak for Anth, but myself, I make the gameplay to suit me and just share it. What you're looking for should only exist in FIFA 14–16, which are based on the Ignite engine, as well as the Switch versions of FIFA 19–23.The ball can't be kicked out of play, the ball has a magnet inside.
There is no loose balls or errors - There is no organic feel to the game.
I play FIFA 16 and 17 mainly. What you're looking for should only exist in FIFA 14–16, which are based on the Ignite engine, as well as the Switch versions of FIFA 19–23.
Which soccer game would you recommend? I don't really enjoy any of them anymore—I don't know if it's my age or what—but I find flaws in every game; even with FIFA 14, I don't feel fully satisfied!I play FIFA 16 and 17 mainly.
FIFA 16 has loads of decent mods but has a few issues.
FIFA 17 is basically 16 but frostbite.
No,FIFA 17 will never have these:FIFA 17 is basically 16 but frostbite.
The animations are fine (excluding the player collision animation - the “I bumped into someone carrying a handful of groceries and stumbled back” animation) - it’s the animation execution which is bad. In cases where a player is out of position, they simply shouldn’t get to the ball. Instead, they slide/teleport the player into position so that 100% of balls hit near a player are gettable.Exactly this. I'm sure this won't happen in Authentic (I mean, it'd be crazy to manipulate gameplay like this if it did).
But even for Competitive... Could they really not think of a more realistic way around this? Like giving the opponent an extreme "aggressive pressing" option that essentially man-marks every player if the opponent is seriously taking the p...?
It feels like "forcing" things is the answer to everything with FC. Force the game to flow by making every deflection magnetise to a player; force "reward" by manipulating ball physics on tackles so that the ball sticks to your feet like glue; force goals by deleting more and more AI.

Strictly speaking, these issues have been present since FIFA 19, and they have made first touch almost meaningless. The animations are fine (excluding the player collision animation - the “I bumped into someone carrying a handful of groceries and stumbled back” animation) - it’s the animation execution which is bad. Ignite is ALIVE, Frostbite is nothing.I don't quite understand; these video clips show everything you can experience in FIFA 17.
I like how he adjusted running.
But passing, shooting, and speed seam off.
