EA SPORTS FC 27

I received two beta emails, one with a cutoff of July 31st, and the second had a cutoff of July 27th. Maybe that's the reason for it not showing up for some people right now?

I don't have any faith in 27 at the moment, actually planning to not preorder this year, for the first time. I will of course wait for the deep dives/beta impressions.

That DaaGlitcher sounds like bullshit, or they didn't like him playing the game instead of working, as much as the game can annoy me I believe most or a portion of the team likes the sport enough to want to make something authentic, but that isn't what will and is selling so here we are.
I have tried for years to get the beta but I always miss out for years I don't play ultimate team just career. Would love to test.

Amen (to the image in the tweet)!

"Because when everything is special...

Nothing feels special."

Absolutely spot on, and this is where we are failing our young people. Not giving them the experiences we had. All these people in charge at various companies chasing the billions, taking advantage of the lack of regulation anywhere and running to the hills. They have the chance to shape things in the right way in these positions of influence. Everyone has sold out, even Miles at FM. Everything is just so...empty now. Nostalgia has never been more painful.

Depending on the source, the average human attention span is currently anywhere between 8 and 40 seconds, either feels generous.

I will try to report on an important matter here sorry if it doesn't come out so well.
In the trailer, in a short segment, Fenerbahçe vs. Real Madrid is shown. Check.

Fenerbahçe has white shorts and socks identical to Real Madrid's. Why doesn't EA use a kit mixing system that already existed in...
PES 5 and allowed combinations?

Besides being something that would look sensational for realism, it would make playing much easier for us. There are certain kits that become confusing and hard to distinguish. In my view, it’s not a superfluous addition; it’s a FIFA rule, according to which pieces cannot be the same.

Nowadays, with the advancement of technology, they could develop a much more advanced system with the numerous combinations that teams actually use.
People need to request this on social media or the official forum, so the developers know that the community is interested.

I tagged them on Twitter (X) with the idea to have alternate kits with different shorts, so for example here, Fenerbahce's home is in the picture, their away would be the all cream/white one, third (or first alternate) the all navy one, then a fourth alternate which could be the home with the third kits shorts and socks, or something custom navy, as they'd have in real life. In modern football, teams must go through about 7-10 kit combinations throughout the season, and yet here we are in 2026 still p*ssing about with what each kit is in its 'normal' form.

I believe some of the US sports games allow kit mixing

I don't *think* this is what's coming in FC27's Career Mode... but it'd be great if it was!

That is true, in their Madden games outside of certain special uniforms like throwback jerseys, you are able to change the helmet/jersey/pants/socks/cleats, etc. So I think it's definitely doable if the devs are given the bandwidth to do so or care enough to do it

It's sorta already exists in FIFA with the morale system where each player have different personality and expectations around wins, losses and match performance/form. But i would love if they build up on it to include transfer and player development/growth.

Another update from one of the Career Mode devs (source)... The last point in-particular is a great one. Say what you want about EA/FC (I'll be the first to say I don't like the gameplay), but does this sound like a guy who doesn't understand what a football game's Career Mode should be?

I know there are a lot of questions around features for both Career Modes and for most of them you will have to wait for the Deep Dive and the Pitch Notes. Especially read the Pitch Notes since they will have info that will not be in the Deep Dive and explain everything in more detail.

But wanted to quickly address a bit about Dynamic OVR: you won't see crazy boosts that feel unnatural.

There is a couple ideas behind it: some young players when they play in a team sometimes have matches where they fulfill their potential, where you go: oh my god I see what is special about them, just to then have matches where they don't show it and are kind of at their current development stage.

Another principle: managers each matchday have tough squad decisions to make. Take the Premier League schedule: match fitness with so many matchdays is a concern. Can the player perform at his usual level? Do I bench someone who didn't have some good matches or do I keep him playing? Do I rotate the squad since I will need bench and reserve players during the season? Do I give a chance to the highly motivated player? Who earns a permanent spot and who doesn't? These are constant thoughts managers have and we want to bring to the game.

We don't want it to be going from matchday to matchday just pressing play without thinking about who your starting 11 is. For a manager career mode, that decision should be an important one.

Honestly i am not worried about career mode. I think career mode will be great and at the level we use to get back in FIFA 07. The team has been doing some great work. What i am worried about is the gameplay and especially the lack of "common sense" from player when it comes to finding space and positioning themselves always being too rigid to player roles and formation.

But isn't this exactly what EA do? They talk about something like this.

But on the pitch, the ball doesn't behave like a ball, and the players don't move like players.

Career mode could be exactly like Football Manager but the actual gameplay is where the core problem is. Career mode is essentially relying on the gameplay design team to get "Authentic" right for it all to tie together. At the end of all of it, if the gameplay part doesnt consider anything that is happening within the Career part (other than boosts or nerfs to OVR.) then its all just crap.

Yeh it’s the core gameplay that ruins it. Although personally I had so much fun recently playing authentic on world class. Having the EA Gamecam playing a season is a lot of fun. The AI is the let down, but the core gameplay is getting there.

Yeah, I've never said otherwise - I was more making the point that there are people in EA who clearly know what football is and what we're looking for. In the Career Mode team, at least.

I share the concerns about "Authentic". As it stands, it's nowhere near separated enough from the standard gameplay (the standard gameplay which, I've said before, I genuinely don't think anyone wants - even FUT players on Twitter are talking about trajectories that don't make sense).

But there is, at least, a team dedicated to further separating it each year - which integrates with the Career Mode team (so I don't think we'll get many answers out of the "Gameplay" reveal tomorrow, but more the "Career Mode" one later this week).

I'm confident it will be better. Whether it'll have decent ball physics (which is a minimum requirement) remains to be seen.

This dev is really great. I know career mode will be good. The big problem is the gameplay. I didn't think Authentic 2.0 will be a game changer.
Ea needs to have footy lovers in their gameplay team. We all know for year's what's wrong in the game. It's not only an engine problem, it's a global vision. Control, physics (ball and players mouv)and CPU and players behaviour should be adressed. No realism without these 3 importants.

While I agree that a shared, collective vision is essential for any project to be successful, there are some limitations in the engine they are unlikely to ever overcome. For example, ball and player teleportation. On almost every possession, the game teleports the player and/or the ball so they can receive the pass in a good position. If they didn’t, it would result in a lot of missed passes or poor first touches. Ironically, the game has sliders which add poor passes and bad first touches, which could be organically implemented into the game by eliminating (or minimizing) teleportation.

I just want to add that any game like this that goes for full price and has its main selling points FIFA PACKS that you pay real money for, and you advertise largely leaning onto gamemodes selling those packs, then your games or at least that mode should be free to play.

Career mode and all has its place, not just as a little bundled novelty that comes with a pay to win mode that the entire product is packaged around.

I am in the Career Mode Beta and some of the things like form is something that should of been in the game years ago, but how does it exactly show in game.
Does a striker start missing easy chances?

I will see what the game plays like because coming out and stating we make improvements to the career mode and so on, really isn't that important if the game is still a completely mindless eSports game.

After watching the gameplay deep dive, correct me if I'm mistaken but are they saying they're making the AI defending even more passive because people complain about AI assistance in tracking and covering?

I don't understand, the attackers can pass and make runs faster than you can switch to the next defender and react accordingly so you NEED to rely on AI to assist with being coverage, that's the entire point of the balance between attack and defence in a football game not to mention the real sport it's supposed to be based on.

Also they mention even further reducing tackle and interception error so defenders can even more conveniently flow away from a tackle with possession and counter?

Man that trailer was all over totally awful. Its so sad to see that this is our only option.

1 min into the deep dive and they're already talking about "improvements" which are, in reality, horrible regressions. "The cpu AI is useless so now you have to control every single player on the pitch at all times to make sure they're doing what they should".

Edit: We've also made attacking runs more difficult to track and AI will refuse to tackle you unless you run into them. I hope they're bundling free L1 replacements with the new game.

Tbf they did they authentic mode will be detailed in the career mode trailer.

Btw has anyone noticed how fifa has fallen behind on a technical level compared to the industry standard? I.e physics and visuals. I remember when the PS5/XBSX came out the first Fifa had industry leading Hair effects etc. Now the game looks like its a half gen behind. Even other EA games like BF6 are MILES ahead.

The AI changes they are selling as improvements are actually a 360 degrees dumbing down. I also love that that they are saying it like there already weren't years and years of making the defensive AI more stupid. The irony is real here lol.

Anyway, they specified again that they'll give more feedback on realistic/authentic gameplay during the career dive, so maybe there is some still some hope they did something decent and dinstinct there. At least I hope, even thinking about regular players here, cause if Authentic is a disappointment like last year making work the vanilla stuff after all that nerfing will be even more difficult, I guess?
