I concur. It's difficult to look past how much focus is going to be on The Grounds, and FUT - because these will always be the main selling points.
I really don't enjoy seeing how toxic the reaction to this stuff gets (I say that having rolled my eyes at the excitement for new FUT "walkouts" yesterday).
The Pitch Notes are the only bit we should be judging until we get gameplay footage (and even then, specifically "Authentic mode" gameplay footage).

I think the point of the video is you can now play as the bears in the back ground on career mode.
You do seem to be getting a little too infused in the game at the moment, you do know you are going to be massively disappointed.

If there was an FC cheat where your players turned into your club mascot (but still with unique abilities)... I can't lie, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

What it would mark is a huge shift away from FUT at the very least. I'm sure it will be monetised to hell, but there is potential for some good.
Also keeping a close eye on the UGC element, that could be awesome.
For the gameplay, like you say it's so difficult to judge until we see specific footage such as authentic mode, so I'm keen to learn about what they're intending to do for gameplay high level only - with special attention ot the modes. The public comms of the career mode team does get me excited, they seem happy, which is different to confidence.

The "deep dives" start from next week, according to the video description. When we get some Career Mode / "Authentic" Gameplay info, then we can judge properly.
Obviously, some stuff is terrifying, and you have to hope that "Authentic" doesn't feature it, primarily:

"Perfectly Controlled Stretching Interceptions":

Is it just me but if I was the audience for The Grounds, I don't really feel like they sold it? Or is it they don't need to, because it's so popular and there's no competition.

We need way more detailed info, though. It's probably had loads of improvements, but you wouldn't know from how vague and buzzwordy that is.

As I expected, the trailer was sensory overload, I swear they create them to be distracting on purpose either for the inattentive or to hide the very little gameplay their obligated to show to meet compliance.

Why do the graphics look worse than RTWC 06 and PES 14? Cloth physics downgraded even further. Couldn't judge the gameplay because there's barely anything to see.

Unfortunately that is the case for every sports game these days..
A few days ago I was watching this video.
And maybe I am crazy, but in a way this game looks better to me than modern FIFA/EA FCs. Of course the fidelity is better nowadays, but the overall look of this game feels much more realistic. I wish devs would try to have a simpler but more realistic approach to graphics.
Regarding EA FC27: No surprise that it doesn't look like a game for sim heads. Maybe it is again a little step forward. But like @Chris Davies said, all this The Ground stuff is not a good sign. NBA 2k also got ruined by The City.

Authentic Mode last year was basically just a set of blocked sliders (yes, I vaguely remember somebody identified changes in the game files, however except for the speed being slower I've yet to understand what would change pad in hands so significantly to market it as a distinct thing), as of today I can't be anything but totally skeptic that we'll get a separated game mode with different AI, different player movement, different ball physics/first touch control (even just one of them all) that they aren't even heavily sponsoring with the main trailer like they did with AM last year.
Then, of course, I'd love to be surprised... watching the deep dives is free, after all.

This is great - we can all test it on release day whether we buy the game or not.
The Career Mode stuff sounds deeper than the trailer is letting on - but again, the trailer was never going to be for us anyway.
The more years of iteration we get, the better it should be. And let's be honest, considering the state of eFootball - it's our only hope (even if it's slim).

From what I've read, Authentic will be expanded upon further this year. There were differences beyond sliders (which you could turn on/off via the "Authentic features" toggle), but fairly subtle.
