I understand the reasoning, but I don't think the problem is simply acceleration. Testing with Sprint 50 and Acceleration 1 only demonstrates that tweaking one parameter dramatically changes gameplay; it doesn't demonstrate the cause of the behavior you describe.

In my setup, the sliders are designed to work together. If you significantly lower acceleration and increase sprint, spacing, pressure timing, defensive recoveries, and AI behavior inevitably change as well. That's why I prefer to evaluate gameplay as a whole rather than attribute everything to a single slider.

If you have comparable tests or videos that show consistent improvement in different situations, I'd love to see them.

Sliders Lab v3.0 – Adaptive Realism - Universal Career Mode

EA SPORTS FC 26 Football Simulation Project

———

Welcome to Adaptive Realism, the football simulation project for EA SPORTS FC 26.

The goal isn't to artificially increase difficulty. The goal is to make football more believable.

*PHILOSOPHY*
Adaptive Realism was born from a simple statement: More human error, fewer artificial advantages.

This set aims to enhance the original gameplay of FC 26 through five fundamental principles.

First: Player Identity. Attributes must have a real impact. A champion must be recognizable. A limited player must show their flaws.

Second: Realistic Pace. Football isn't a sequence of continuous transitions. This set creates phases of study, build-up play, space management, and acceleration in decisive moments.

Third: Believable CPU. The CPU must be competitive through technical quality, movement, and tactical decisions. Not through perfect precision or artificial pressure.

Fourth: Importance of tactics. Each team must have its own identity. Top teams control the game. Smaller teams have limitations, but also the ability to surprise.

Fifth: Realistic Career. This setting is designed to work in all leagues, from the Premier League to the lower leagues, including Liga 2 with Eibar.

*MATCH SETTINGS*
For best results, this setting is calibrated for 8-minute, timed matches.

Basic Mode: Champion Difficulty.
Elite Version: Legend Difficulty, designed for expert users and full manual players.
Player-based difficulty disabled. Radar enabled and realism features enabled. Wind and weather disabled for consistency.

*CAMERA*
The EA SPORTS GAME CAM is used with parameters designed to provide a wide view of the pitch and encourage deep-lying play.

*CONTROLS*
Controls are completely manual for shots and passes. Only crosses remain semi-assisted. Defense is tactical, with no automatic clearances. Player substitutions are set only for high balls to ensure full control during build-up play.

*SLIDERS: THE SOUL OF THE SET*
The sliders section is designed to slow down the pace, increase human error, and give weight to every decision.
Speed and acceleration are reduced to eliminate the arcade effect.
Shooting, passing, and first-touch errors are increased to punish hasty decisions and reward precision.
The defensive line is lower and more compact to encourage study and midfield play.
The goalkeeper is human, not a wall. He will save, but he will also make mistakes.
Interceptions and deflections are more difficult, making every through ball a risk.

*CUSTOM CPU*
The CPU has been calibrated to play real football. More thoughtful build-up play, less sterile dribbling, less skill, and more passing. The shot rate is balanced so as not to have 20 shots per game, but rather selected shots. Aggressive tackling is present to attract tactical fouls and disrupt the game.

*STATISTICAL OBJECTIVE*
With this setup, the goal is to have matches with balanced ball possession, between 10 and 15 total shots, and a result that is decided by one or three goals. Passing accuracy will vary based on the quality of the team: higher for top clubs, lower for lower-tier teams.

*CONCLUSION*
Adaptive Realism isn't trying to change EA SPORTS FC 26. It's trying to enhance it.

The best gameplay isn't what makes the game more difficult. This is what makes every match more believable.

Now I'll leave you with the complete on-screen settings.
