I have started a career with United and made some changes to the sliders.
I think there were not enough battle in the middle and the ball was not free enought.
Headers were to easy to score too.

Thanks for the slider values. I have an issue where my defense line is always at the halfway line. Even with defense line set to as low as 20 or 10, it does not change. What can i do to make my defense go deep when AI is attacking?

1) If Shot speed is less than the goalkeeper's skills, he will catch the shots dead on target. The minimum difference should be +5 in favor of the shot. Or even more. How can I score long-range goals? You can check this out. The difference is greater, and there are more beautiful shots.
2) With a Positionning marking of more than 70, it is almost impossible to develop diverse attacks. There are no random openings or 1v1 exits. All the goals are identical. This destroys realism. I have Positionning marking +48 and Run Frequency +36. And it all turns into the same passes. I want to make the defense even smaller. I don't understand what to do with +72. Sometimes I switch to PES, where the freedom of opening is great and there are more random options. It will be interesting to read your opinion. Thank you again for your work.

Thanks for your questions, I really aporeciate.

1/ ball speed is a value for the maximum speed of the ball. FC has an arcade DNA so you have to calm down the speed of the ball. If not, it's a rocket!

To score long rang, you have to have a great shooter, states help to have a better angle, more power, etc... On FUMA, you could score more because you can choose the power, the GK will be maybe surprised.

2/ Position marking is more complex. It's not only a value,but a behaviour of the players

If your lines are tight, you don't need a strong value. About 45-55 will be nice.
If you like a more spacy game to let CPU build up slowly, you need to have a stronger value between 65-75.

On my game, CPU didn't score again and again the same goal. The lines and marking are made to boost CPU, to have more random actions. That the key.
I didn't focus on my game, I'm only focus on having the best CPU. After that, I only move user values

I’m struggling with the lack of off ball runs. On the wings by fullbacks rarely overlap. When I have the ball on the wing and cut in, no player makes a daring run into the box for a tap in. When I’m at the top of the 18 or just a few yards out, players are not checking to, or overlapping underneath. There seems to be no movement.

I’ve tried increasing off ball player runs to 99 but this seem to have no effect. Ironically, setting that value lower seems to increase the likelihood that a player will make a run. Is there any way in sliders, tactics or anything else that will make players make more aggressive, creative and incisive runs, especially in the final third?

Have you set up your player roles in the tactics? I set my wingers to be attack minded, attacking full backs, make sure your players are suited to those roles though in their profiles

Thanks for the suggestion. I usually play Classic matches through Kickoff with various teams - I’ve never looked at Tactics before but I’ll give it a try.

I’d like to share all the settings I’m currently using, even after patch 1.1.3, always in Kick-Off or Tournament mode. I don’t think Career Mode changes much, except for injuries — which, by the way, I haven’t experienced so far.

I’m not claiming to have the ultimate truth. I simply started from EA’s Realistic set and adjusted some parameters that, for me, based on how I play and what I enjoy, felt better.
The only two values I borrowed from @Matt10 set are run frequency (increased to 10) and defensive line height.
If I understood correctly, he argues that lowering defensive height helps “activate” low-block defenses. High defensive teams will still press high (as I’ve already tested myself).

CPU pass error fluctuates between 65 and 68.
In lower-tier matches (Championship and 2. Bundesliga), 68 produced too many mistakes, even simple ones. With stronger players, you could even raise it further — but that’s up to personal taste.

Tackle assistance is something I still don’t really understand…

CPU Sliders
In Career Mode I’ll adjust build-up speed and first-pass frequency depending on the opponent’s play style, but this can be considered a solid base, because in my opinion you can already see differences between teams.
I’ll lower skill move frequency, since some players still tend to overuse them. Shot frequency I’ve always left at 50, but after patch 1.1.3 I noticed the CPU doesn’t shoot from distance. I’m now testing with a higher value (65).

Wanted to share my sliders and a video here. I would also posit to @Chris Davies that this does not look like a bunch of rabbits hopping about but looks sort of like a football game. Sometimes the players move a little too fast, sometimes a little too slow - the game suffers from a lack of dynamic pacing, which is well beyond the scope of this discussion, but suffice it to say, I think this video shows a decent compromise to player, passing and shooting pace.

The AI is pretty bad in this. I'm an average player at best and this is on Legendary. My focus with the sliders is primarily on the User side, not CPU. Perhaps my pass error and shot error values are causing this. That's not really my focus, it's primarily on player speed, pass speed, and shot speed.

I am one of 5 players in the Milky Way that uses Pro camera. It is very difficult but to me, this offers the greatest immersion and excitement.

My pass speed is low and I play with a very high power bar. In the video, you can actually hear my controller clicking so you can get an idea of the input lag. I find the game in general to be a bit sluggish in terms of the delay between hitting the pass button and execution of the pass, so I play with the highest possible power bar.

It's kind of fun to watch how others play, so I thought I would share.

Hmmmm compared to 1.7 and the new patch it feels way too open for me, like before if I tapped sprint I’d be punished if not in the right areas, feel like I am always being backed off which is allowing too many long shots for me.
