E3 2008

Aha, jokes on t'internet, we know they're all bobbins, I was thinking, blimey, why would you wonder why you have bought something which is a finished and polished game.

E3 was trash this year, nothing really impressed me other than the FF announcement (and I dont even like that game). I want to see how Sony pulls off MAG, I really doubt it will have all those players at one time.............whats the small print

When Little Big Planet was used to display the statistical information for Jack Tretton at Sony's E3 Media Briefing, it suddenly turned that title into a must have this year. It looked brilliant. So many games to get this year.

Resistance 2
FIFA 09
PES 2009
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
SOCOM Confrontation
Little Big Planet
Far Cry 2
and more....

They say 256 players with 8 man squads.

I think it will work like resistance 2 a little.

256 players are tracked by the servers - anyone in your vicinity will be detected and will appear on your screen - the same way something like gta only renders the area of the city you are in etc... - anyone miles away wont be rendered. The 8 man squads will probably have mini objectives so your 8 men will probably be told to blow a damn to help another squad of 8 somewhere else across the map - so everyone doesn't pile into the same area of the map and the game become a huge mess.

Dedicated servers should solve the lag - although it can't stop YOU from lagging yourself out.

256 players in 1 game
128 players per side
16 squads of 8

Within those 8 man squads it seemed like 1 of the was a commander watching the battle from overhead so he might not be on the map running around.

16 squads of 7 men with 1 commander off the map
112 players per side
224 players on the map

Still a lot.

Pay per play... That's not for me I'm afraid.

If they still had Getaway and Eight Days in production that would of been the killer end to Sony conference for me.

Cant beleive didnt have stage show demo of Killzone 2 only 10 sec bit we seen before although i see being shown off now on Gamespot.

Think Mag looked good but again CGI so who knows but if you got to pay subscription screw that.

I thought MS and Sony were meh but i thought presentation brought MS through Sony was abit all over shop although did have nice effects. Seriously didnt recall going hurry up for god sake so many times as i did during Sony conference so much crap felt like age before saw games.

KIllzone 2 multiplayer trailer , why didn't they show this last night?

Right Click and save as

http://poseidon.dl.playstation.net/..._E3Trailer-HD1080.mp4?product=0084&country=us

Killzone 2 multiplayer will ship with eight maps, the developer said, and players will be invited to rank up as they play in a similar fashion to current FPS heavyweight Call of Duty 4. Support is for between two and 32 players, although there are no hard player limits, with a lot of scope for customisation.

There will also be six player classes to choose from - assault, scout, medic, engineer, tactician and saboteur - and each will come with various specialist skills. For example, the tactician can deploy mobile spawn points and call in air-strikes from a chopper, while the medic can revive players with a medi-gun and toss health packs to comrades.

This sort of team-play behaviour will contribute to ranking up, as will kills and completing objectives, and there are also a range of "ribbons" to earn by doing a certain number of headshots and so on.

What's more, players will be able to customise their approach further by combining two classes (known as "badges" in the game's lingo) to combine certain abilities.

For game-types you've got team deathmatch, capture-and-hold, search-and-destroy, assassination and "body count", and it will be possible to customise party playlists so that you work through a sequence of different game-types during one session - without leaving the level.

There's masses more to report - including the community aspects and the minute details behind all of the above - but we'll save it for our extended preview either later in the week or once we get home from E3.

LBP is going to be awesome - Imagine making the lookalike opening level to Sonic the hedgehog that turns into a mario brothers level mid way through then becomes a streets of rage ending with a boss battle!

Fat Princess Hands-on

I want some video, its sounds fun.

What plays mp4 formats? That killzone video came down as mp4 and media player wont have anything to do with it

I challenge you to make it when LBP comes out, and then share it out :w00t:

The graphics in that game are incredible, then again they only have to mainly focus on 2 guys.

I'll have a bloody good go at it - LBP is my all time dream game. I adore games that let you create your own content. I used to have a side scrolling bike game on the nes i think that let you create your own levels with ramps and hills and things to jump over and played that every day over and over until the game one day stopped working. :((

They're repeating yesterdays stuff on http://livewire.ign.com/2008/e3/index.html# now - its nintendos right now.

Fat Princess- PSN title:

You can choose Classes: Warrior, Archer, Mage, Worker, Priest (you can customize looks)
• You can gather Resources. You use it to Upgrade things like your Weapons and Fort.
• 32 players Online. The game is also playable offline.
• The Goal is to rescue back your princess from the opposing teams fort. Since the opponents has stuffed her so fat though you will need a lot of men to carry her back.
• 10 Maps and additional game modes as well.

Sounds like a lot of fun.

Oooh UFC 2009 Undisputed. I hope they show more gameplay for that.

I didn't know Fat Princess was online, that changes things, it now seems a bit more interesting :))

Yeah exactly. A 32 player online hack and slash with team elements, classes and maps makes it sound very good. I look forward to its release.

Just read the ign thing on fat princess - that sounds pretty good. If it's a psn title as well it should be pretty cheap.
