Defending in PES 12 Demo is so hard

I am getting better and better now. I can hold my defense line together even against Barca on Top player level.

Defending is an ART now and it depend on some factors:

1- Your formation and tactics (You should read every match and plan for it).
2- the quality of your team, defenders and DMF's.
3- Slow down, close spaces, avoid X button unless you have an extra man in your back to cover.
 
Does anyone have the same issue that the players don't stay at their assigned positions? I have a lwf in my formation and always want him to stay wide. but for some reason, they always seem to drift to the center of the field after a while. any idea how I make them not do that?
 
Defending is really hard and has a steep learning curve imho, hope it doesn't scare off too many people. Im just getting used to it now and can't believe how basic defending has been in past pes/fifa titles. Defending finally needs skill :-)
 
Defending is awful in Pes2012... that's the cause of AI always try to dribble instead of try a build-up play: it has much more good results, since it's really easy to dribble opponents in this "poor Pes2012's tackling system"... Seriously, if you open your eyes, you'll see that offense x defence is totally unbalanced.

This issue needs an imediately fix, because it turns Pes 2012 in a too arcadish game.
 
People help me with these settings, please!
4-2-4 system of play, my wingers (LWF, RWF), often in defense or midfield, and I want to permanently stick to their position as it was in version 2011. When I just attacking the attackers from the front: /

Heres one to experiment with.
Go into training mode and in free play, select top player but play
your team vs say 8 players, until You get the hang of how AI defends.
At least this way you get more time on the ball to practice and develop own strategies.
 
Yes, defending is much harder and yes, it is a challenge but this game will continue to mean jack shit unless jenkey or yair can edit the horrendous cheating AI script out of it.

You can practice defending all you like but it will all mean nothing when the AI decides it's going to score. I've had AI controlled 2nd division strikers waltz past international defenders as if they were ghosts, I've had through balls with 1 AI striker against 2 defenders who, for no apparent reason, decide to run in opposite directions away from the forward leaving him with a clear run on goal. I've seen easy passes go completely in the opposite direction straight to an AI controlled player, ricochets and deflection fall straight to an unmarked AI forward in front of goal and don't even get me started about the AI biased refereeing.... :RANT:

Word up to that. Had the cheating AI scripts been removed and the damn goalkeepers been improved, the game would actually be playable! I've decided to not play the game until yair releases his "no ai cheating"-patch, as it frustrates me to bits. :)
