~ Crimson Desert ~

1.04 rolling out… And. It’s. Massive!! 😍

https://crimsondesert.pearlabyss.com/en-US/News/Notice/Detail?_boardNo=84

I just can’t remember any videogame getting a better support. Help me out here.
As a customer, a gamer, my own inner child… I’m so freaking happy!! 🥳

Edit: One minor flaw with this game I found. The content itself and the changes through patches are so massive, that I'm not exactly encouraged to talk about it. 🤪
I have the need to exchange about thousand things… (the oh’s and ah’s are sounding through the stands 😊 ) …but then this would be so time consuming…
And I bet others explore and find stuff like I am so I don’t wanna spoil any fun…I hope you get me. Not as easy to explain for me. 😉

Another patch 1.05 just droped for Crimson Desert with brand new features:

Unreal. I’m telling you… it’s unreal.

GOTY all the way… bye bye GTA! 😂

Lots of new content and so many regular updates for free :APPLAUD:. Played CD for almost 200h and never got bored once (besides the first 10h when you're doing those tutorial tasks helping folks). I love so much the exploration and the interactions with characters, and the ambiance gives me Witcher III vibes. Pearl Abyss even made extra subtle changes like adding more interactions between random npcs when they talk with each other, new items in the world for trading, more detail on fauna, better graphical effects with more thunders during storms where the environment maintains soaked after the rain for longer. My GOTY 2026!

Yeah gets to the point where your thinking about it at work, thats how good it is

One of the most epic sountracks ever released was shared by Pearl Abyss for free to enjoy. Love especially the "Against All Odds" track that should be dedicated to IGN, Eurogamer, and others for its great success. As to the fellow Graymanes who are playing Crimson Desert for real, the "Stand As One" track should be the one. 🎶

Not to mention that Part. 2 Battles blends in perfectly in Pywel's open world action adventure... 💕

Freakin' finally. I guess (unfortunately) the guy had some issues with his (or one of his) pet(s) passing away, which totally sucks... But almost 2 months later, there it is. It's good to see some unbiased review of the game, pointing out the obvious flaws and still giving out a fair score (based on everything good about the game, and what it does right), as in, a rating I guess won't piss off all (at least most of) the fan(boy)s... Based on the score, it's not a "must-buy" for me, not at the current full price anyways... But I totally intend to get it in the (maybe a little bit distant) future when it gets a 30-35% discount (and most of the bugs "ironed out").

I kind of just wished to know if it's possible to toggle off that EXTREMELY IRRITATING black & white "blink effect" that triggers EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. you kill an enemy (I don't mean bosses, I mean regular enemies). You can literally see the effect in every single combat video that's out there.

A great unbiased review and complete introduction about CD to new players. I'm 350 hours in the game, and still can't stop playing. I hope in the expansion they'll focus to deliver a great story, because that's the only thing this game needs to be a complete masterpiece! This is the game that I dreamed about early in the 90's...

Or... the best combo of medieval fantasy/Sci-Fi/adventure movie from the 80's:

I think it's so freakin' awesome that they added PINBALL MACHINES!!🤯
But I still simply can't get over the fact that after so many updates, they still haven't put an option to turn off that immensely and absurdly irritating "black & white blink effect" after you kill someone / something (at least not that I'm aware of).

There's seems to be a mod that disables it, but I believe it's outdated since the author has gone missing.

That's a MAJOR turn off for me. Well... at least anyone can "test" the game for free now ; )

Be aware though the story isn't that deep (but there are also good parts in it), and the first 5 to 10 hours are a bit boring from an action perspective, but everything else is so well designed, on another level. This game is top quality, by far the best released AAA that I experienced this year...

Yeah fortunately I did know that! I spent a couple of hours yesterday collecting insects and butterflies by a river, and then randomly picking animals up, that was fun!

The Kiwi bird was a nice touch (if you know you know eh @Chris Davies )

I even met someone that reminded me of Astrid (💔💔💔😢😢😢🙂❤️)

This will either be a masterpiece or a disasterpiece. No inbetween
Ironically- its exactly in between.
I put 80 hours in it, put it down and never looked back. I enjoyed my time with it, enjoyed the world, but after a while you realise that the game shallow as a puddle. Story is absolutely terrible. If you can even call it a story. Characters are flat like pancake.

Cliff never even questioned that somebody killed him and threw him to the river. Literally not one fuck given. Not a single "What happened?". Nothing. Just carry on.

You can see how the game was supposed to be an MMO with all the pets, wagon missions, house decorations.. but thats all there is really. Its closer to Sims than a good rpg.

I enjoyed the puzzles, coz for the first time in years developers did not think everybody is an idiot and did not give you solution after 30 seconds. Your character didnt say anything like "Hey, maybe lets try to push this rock" when you dont move for 20 seconds. I had time to look around, think and try few things. Puzzles were by far the best and most rewarding part of the game.

Unfortunately I had no motivation to play it beyond my 80 hours because I realised that the game does not really offer anything I havent seen before. And Im not interested in collecting pets.

I also get shocked at the never ending WIND in the game. Every single video I see is absolutely NON. STOP. WIND. Thankfully there's a weather manipulation mod... Yeah, I'm a total nitpicker, sorry. That's (one of the MANY reasons) why I believe this game won't click for me.

While I don't think this game is for me for many reasons, @Emroth mentioned the lack of story already which is a big no no for me, but your wind comment actually goes the other way, I love wind and wind effects in games, we need more of those 😶‍🌫️

Nice screenshots. The beauty of this game and strong points will be always in the exploration of the vast beautiful world, hidden loot and puzzles, verticality, great combat variety, strong mechanics in using your three characters combining their skills with mounts and plenty of customization. I'm sure you'll enjoy CD! :TU:
