"Community Mode" not on PC!

Why oh why does the PS2 version have an uber-cool feature called "Community Mode" that lets you and your mates enter as "Community Members" and then tracks all results, stats etc against each other in every game you choose to play. Hell, there are even a plethora of awards you can win against each other. Perfect for when the boys are round and a great tool to see finally who is the best at a game.

However, as a PC user, Konami have decided for me that I am a lonely gamer whose only 1 vs 1 action could possibly be over the internet, therefore they have decided to COMPLETELY STRIP OUT COMMUNITY MODE.

They forget the fact that, in this day and age of lounge PC's and widescreen TV's, that multi-player gaming on the PC is becoming more common place.

After seeing this function on the PS2 first I was totally psyched to see it on the PC, but now that fact it has been stripped out has caused much annoyance. Why strip out a component of the game that was already there!

Grr!

Does anybody else pine for this option?

It´s the biggest disapointment I have about 2008. This alone will keep me from buying the game.

Well KONAMI believes that only people that play online will buy their game...all the others will just download it off some torrent...
I dont blame them however im surprised that Xbox360 has this mode cause the PC version is just a direct clone of the 360 version...are you sure?

I think bonusbertie said it all. I also have my pc connected to a big tv in the living room? and thats where me and my mates get together. It´s just plain stupid to take out something that was already in the game.
And what you say makes no sense, as you can download off some torrent the ps2 version as well, which includes community mode.

By the way, I´m not sure about the xbox version...

It is the only improvement in the PS2 version. This PS2 version on PES 2008 is the most humiliating moment in the history of PES. It is nothing but PES6 made worse. Nothing new (except the community mode) and the gameplay is more arcade than ever. Guys like Ballack and Lampard hit goals from 40 meters almost every time you try it. Ridiculous. No one should buy it...

It's like the developers sit in a room and say to themselves,
'What can we take out of our next version/platform to really piss off our loyal fans'?,'Even better,we'll circulate press reports of new features for our new game but only put some in some versions so nobody knows what theirs has until they've paid for it'. Muhahahahahahahahahahaha

I bought both the PS2 and PC versions BTW and was utterly disgusted with the huge backward step they took with the PS2 version and the total ineptitude of the programming and the usual online fiasco on the PC.
I've said it before and i'll say it again.

Personally, I HATE on-line gaming!
When I want friends/lads/buddies, I'm hanging out in a local bar, drinking "Guiness", making jokes and teasing/flirting girls!
I'm so bloody HATING these damn games' companies, that they creating SUPERB games (RPGs mostly) and they doing them MASSIVE-MULTIPLAYER-GAMES, with simple or not at all single-mode campaign!
When I'm choosing to play PC, I want to joy MYSELF with a game!
I don't want company! Sometimes, is funny to play PES with human friends, but THAT's the far I go...
