but when we go online every time i go to have a attempt on goal i get serious lag but it never seems to happen to himso is it possible for him to this or have i just got sour grapes

Its called upload cheating...The other player uploads files while playing so cuts the information to your end...This way its only you whos getting the lag....
This is the disease of any P2P game...on any platform...The only solution is server based games...But with the publishers being stubborn retarted money grabbing morons they dont see multiplayer as the only cure to piracy...

Its not up to KONAMI the game has to be done server based any P2P game will lag since people cheat...

i know what the problem is now when my my mate makes a room and i join i get really bad lag and he doesnt it exactly the same when i make the room he gets really bad lag and i dont.

We both have wirless routers set up does this make a difference to on line play

i guess hosting the game doesnt do the tricks for you.
I notice actually each player host a half of the game.
so you could be laggy on the second half if you are hosting.
