Cheating AI and poor rebound physics.

In order to make the CPU player better you can do one of two things.
1) Improve CPU AI.
2) Cheat

Konami has chosen cheat especially on Top Player.

01) When the ball rebounds, 99 percent of the time the ball will go directly towards the CPU players feet.
02) If the ball goes towards your player, a lot of times your player will either freeze or run away from the all.
03) In away games the ref will hardly book or stop any CPU fouls, but if you get the ball first and the CPU runs into you , you have given a foul.
04) When the CPU has a throw-in the CPU will move your players far away.
05) When you have a throw-in you cannot move or call up any of your players.
06) My 92 speed defender cannot keep up with an 80 speed attacker, but there 80 speed defender can keep up with my 90 speed attacker.
07) The CPU can tackle you by running into the back of you, your player freezes and the ball ends up on CPU players feet.
08) The passing ends up like pinball with the CPU player doing passes with players who have low pass stats.
09) Any 50/50 challenge and the CPU will mostly get the ball or a foul.
10) You run towards the goal on the left wing, you run towards the goal you pass to a player who is in front of you, the CPU will then make the ball pass to someone who is not even in line with then run, or in the direction you are pressing for a pass.
 
10 is very annoying
or he passes directly to the keeper

often SBs like arbeola who are not very good technique wise play superb through balls down the side its very unrealistic
even whit the wrong foot lol

hope for online crashes to be fixed

offline is anyways boring
 
Even worse than 10.

I had Noble for West Ham running towards goal , I pressed the through ball button and the CPU sends the ball behind me.

Man you are right with everything, needs a overhaul asap, does ruin the game play when Burnley are Barca.

Possession is very one sided as well.

nothing's wrong with possession. you just have to change your style of play. stop making dangerous passes.

this is with top player difficulty too. 50% possession on TP is quite normal
 
I've noticed this as well. Most annoying for me is how there's magnets in the ball, and the oppositions boots. Stray balls will just be drawn to the opposing team, almost magically.

Plus tackling is just plain retarded. You can be standing right in front of an attacker, make a very clean, clear tackle, and rather than take the ball it will just bounce sideways and the attacker will pick it up again.

PLUS sliding tackles! Oh my god! So we've gone from fouls every ten seconds a year or so ago, to the opposite slide tackling from behind, taking all of the man and none of the ball, and getting away with it.

Fuck you, Konami...
 
Well its true that the game cheats but i think they make it like this so they force u to play the other way so u go around this things.

For example i think they are forcing us to learn how to fake fouls or dive cause i seen it on some thread that diving works SINCE ref want call for any fouls god damn it konami, they always have to fuc k something up
 
I am getting really sick of the cpu cheating now tbh

when Torres is being caught for pace by Gary Neville, when you get 2 free kicks compared to the opposition's 10, when every foul you give away from a slide tackle is a yellow or red card but several of the cpu players get away with it, when your defender is as faster than the opposition player right up until the point where you catch them and suddenly you slow down and just run along side them until they make a pass.

Is the X button completely useless now for defending? I remember a time when you could play virtually a whole game without releasing R1 and X :LOL: Now when you're defending and you hold X when chasing a striker you just run along side them and don't bother making a challenge.

Also sick of teams like Bolton, Copenhagen etc. passing the ball like Barcelona, i counted one move today where Bolton made 26 passes before my player could even get near, and this was against Liverpool with Gerrard, Aquilani and Mascherano in the midfield so it shouldn't have been possible.
The most frustrating thing though is your AI teammates being utterly stupid and just ignoring a running attacker with the ball, i've let in quite a few soft goals now because my other defenders have left huge gaps for an opponent to side-foot the ball into the bottom corner.
 
It's all I want to say I played Arsenal vs Helsinki and I they had the ball 60% of the time that was a pinball match. I want to cry because all my hopes were in this game I try to find things who are much better than FIFA but I am desperate I want to resell it.
 
Yes man, I agree with you 100%. This f****g "pinball effect" is really annoying :( It´s impossible to get the ball when CPU starts doing this. It really ruined my experience because no matter which tactic you use, the game manage to always leave one or two free CPU players to pass the ball. You have to wait CPU mistakes the last pass to it´s CF to recover the ball in your last line, with all your players in your field to start building your attack. And God help you if you are loosing 0-1 and you are desperate trying to get even. The "pinball effect" is more evident. :(
CPU in this version marks "by density". It groups lot of players in defence making impossible to get the last pass accurate. And the "throw ball" pass is a joke, always the ball goes long out of the field, to a CPU player or the CPU goalkeeper has a terrific timing :(
I really like challenges.....I´m playing a ML with PES UNITED at highest level, but let´s face it, it´s frustrating :( When CPU activates "pinball mode" I can´t get closer enough to the player with the ball just to kill him. Go on, try it, try to make a foul when CPU is passing the ball like maniac. You are always late.

i start to dislike the game too.

1. 90% of sliding tackles are fouls, so i stopped trying it (the cpu is doing it 90% without fouls from the front, back or side)
2. tackling with X is 80% impossible. (most times i get the ball with just staying physically in front of the CPU or just running in to the cpu player)
3. i have big problems with cornerkicks (the CPU gets 80% of my cornerkicks! Once they clear the ball and my player gets it, every CPU-Player is running after it - a shot, or dribbling is (80%) impossible because there are too much of them)
4. through passes from the middle are passed in 80% directy to the opponent. Ok in comparison with real life its, realistic, but in PES10 the CPU is not catching the ball, your player is passing it to him!

I play the game on the highest level, i know how to win. but it is doesn't really make fun to play it like that.
I mean it is the highest level, the CPU is cheating and anyhow i score 3-4 goals in 50% of the games.

Ha ha, I totally agree with you mate. I could even play a 10 minute match and the ball never goes out, or the referee never call for a foul. How real is it? Usually I do substitutions at minute 87.
Dont know why, but.......graphics are perfect, goalkeepers AI is wonderful, but gameplay sucks. I know I´m not the best player in the world, but i´m not the worst either. I´ve been playing pes since pes3, so I´m not that bad.

PS. I´m playing a ML with PES United with Top Player difficulty. I´m still trying to dribble one single player. CPU players are all Pujol :(

I have to disagree. Since getting an Xbox 360 Controller for PES 2010, I very rarely use diving tackles (I'm having some trouble with "aiming") and rely 90% on "x". I play Manchester United in a Premier league season (pro level), I'm second after ~10 games, I have good possession, the trick is to press "x" at the right time and sometimes tap it more times, not keep it pressed. It works quite well.
 
While I agree with some of the points made, the most noticeable being the pass not going where it was intended ,I disagree with the others.

To get more posession reduce compactness, slide up pressing and man mark where necessary.

I've had plenty of fouls given for me and against and penalties too though some obvious ones are ignored unfortunately .

The slide tackling works well enough if you know where to position your player. Aguero robbed Anderson Polga fairly easily setting up Simao for a goal.

And speedwise I've never had a defender catch the likes of Aguero,Torres and Messi for instance.

Use the barge button its on the right hand pad #4 for me and its very effective slowing down the CPU runners.

I'd definitely get the AI attacking increased thiugh and is superstar level can be unlocked permanently and fixed into the OPTION BIN its will be great.

That said 2011 will need many improvements but 2010 is a good base to work from.
