Can't get online

I've seen people with this problem on various threads but thought it would be good to have one specific thread where people can advise or just moan...

I heard that a solution is to go into your network places and disable all connections apart from the one that actually gets you online (so, disable 1394, etc)

This has worked for a lot of people, after doing this i actually managed to get into a lobby but only on friendlies (wow...), which is further along than I've got before but I've still not played one game.

Are a lot of people having this problem?

Heard of any more fixes?

well I heard someone fixed it by updating mainboard. He didn't tell me specifically, so I am not sure it was bios update or mainboard chipset software update.

Do you know what board he was using?

I'm running an Asus A8n sli pcie mobo.

Maybe there's something in this?

look at your private messages if that dont help tell me your msn and i will help you from there

Thanks man, in the advanced tab I only have a tab for the firewall settings.

Is it definitely right click lan/properties/advanced?

I Dont use msn, do you have xfire?

Ah, I see now, I connect through the lan connection rather than the 1394 connection.

If I right click the 1394 connection I get the 2 boxes you said about, I will try checking them now and see what happens...

Fingers crossed :)

I'll let you know how I get along, Thanks :)

ok good luck online is not very good i waited for about a week for help then got on i wished i never lol

If you find a solution please share it as a friend of mine has exactly the same problem.

Konami are a joke, I've never seen a major game just NOT WORK online.

Ok i was told how to get on by a m8 and this is how i got on after a week of trying.1st thing is go to network connections then right click on the lan that you dont use click on properties then advanced and tick the 2 boxes that say about internet connection sharing and i got on after i done this and yes i know its strange because its not even turned on but it worked for me

Hmmmm, on my network connections page I have 2 subheadings

1: Internet Gateway

2: LAN or high speed internet

Under the second subheading (LAN or high speed internet) I have 2 connections:

1394

and

Local area connection.

I only get the 2 check boxes after right clicking the 1394 connection but after checking the 2 boxes the 1st subheading mentioned above (internet gateway) disappears and I can't connect to the inertnet at all.

This is driving me crazy :(

Am lost then fella it dont make sense to me i dont have that number thing on mine just local connection and local connection 3.Which one do you use to go online with?

The LAN connection.

Thanks for your help man, I'll keep trying to work it out and keep you updated, please let me know if you hear of anything else, cheers.

And what happends when i right cklick on 1394 or lan conection3 (there are booth disabled), and in properties/advance...THERE IS NO CHECK boxes to tick ??

Maybe this will help, not sure:

Firstly, as an acid test, disable anti virus and Windows security options while you test.

If you're using a router, you will need to make sure the following ports are open.

TCP Ports: 80, 443, 8800-8899, 14020
UDP Port: 5730-5739

If you are using a network card, make sure you're using Full 100 Duplex and Flow control is disabled (just to make the game run smoother once you do get online).

If all else fails, read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941206 which also applies.

Hope something there is of use to you.

Well, i have done the disable things you write in the thread, thanks for that. But when i play, it say's "Connection to player lost, cancelling match" every time. How will i fix that?

Thanks boys.
