Camera Angles In Final Release .. Just Listened To A Podcast

WinningElevenNextGenBlog Adam and Suff who run it were talking about the game, Konmai had sent them the final game. It was Adam who had been playing it and was answering Q's sent in about the game.

One was about Camera angles and I think its much the same as in PES6 but what I picked up was that there is NO 1 to 9 angle change its just the one angle.

I hope I picked it up wrong but I don't think so, I usual play in Wide with a setting of 9 within that camera I don't like the default setting I like to see into the goals at an angle in Wide.

Can anyone who has the game (released early in several Countries) confirm this..

Yes what you have heard is correct. There is no option to change the angle of wide mode. Its another botch up from Konami who have taken out features which they had no reason to. Pes 2008 will still be a very good game but they could have made this so much better. FRUSTRATED PES FAN!!!!

They will still have Broadcast, Wide, Normal ect ect but just not the adjust 1-9 on wide which I prefered.

You can adjust the angle of the camera from the touch line so you are not looking directly across the field, the camera pans across at an angle...a bit like this \ / as opposed to | | not a great description I know..

Yes, in the WENB Podcast, one of the guys tried to give C. Ronaldo an untucked shirt but was suprised to find that the option is no longer available.

Meaningless. The game used to look much more realistic with the maximum angle, as ON TELEVISION, the camera remains static. It doesn't move sideways and it doesn't move inwards.

Totally Idiotic.

Why? probably because of the framerate problems it would have running on that angle, i know on 9 there would be a lot more on screen than normal, and has probably been tested and found to cause a lot of slowdown.

Unless you have a really good PC i dont think it would run without considerable slowdown on 5-9 angles.

Yes that is true, but thats why they were there to give people like myself the choice....if you havent got a good PC then you dont use it?? Take it away and everybody who has a good PC never gets the choice...MAD!!!:roll:

The point is they probably did test it on good PC's and probably found that the frame rate was so poor is wasnt worth leaving in, I have a highend PC c2d E6600, overclocked to 3.0Ghz, 2GB of Ram, and GF8800 GTS, and i get slight slowdown on replays when there are loads of players on screen, so the average PC is really gonna struggle wth the camera tilt with loads of players on the screen at once.

It would have been nice of them to leave it in, but you would have still moaned of they had and the frame rate was poor.

They cant win either way.

I play with angle 3, but I will still really miss it. The "flat" angle is incredibly boring, it's harder to get a sense of depth. Really retarded choice, and if rthey had listened to us every once in a while maybe they would have realized that taking it out would piss alot of people off. Guess they don't want my money... (I wasn't intending to buy it this year anyways, but this certainly doesn't help so to speak).

I don't think it would be that bad. going into replay mode can sometimes show half of the arena, and if you have proper settings it's not that bad. And as mentioned, leaving it in for those who want to use it is a better choice.

i see no reason for modern pc's to have slowdowns in this game. the graphics are not that great for a pc game yet it has slow downs as if a 8800 series card cant handle it LOL. look at games like crysis, cod4 and ut3. the graphics are FAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR superior then this shoddy port yet it dont have any slowdowns and runs much smoother then pro evo....

They removed, or rather haven't provided, the option to select untucked but they ARE in the game (certain players) and I'm sure the modding community will investigate. I wonder whether there is an fps hit that they need to limit it?

Try and get a petition for a patch or at least so that they include it on the US PES2008 version to be released in Jan. 2008. I am a huge fan of angle 9 its my only real gripe with the game. if we have some kind of petition or list maybe just maybe konami will think about doing something about it. I know its a long shot but lets try.

I don't think Konami cares now that the units are sold. They'll just do their best to keep issues like this quiet so as not to damage further sales.

I'm sorry to be so pessimistic, but the whole PES 2008 charade has really soured me on the franchise.
