I figure position is key, knowing spots where people camp just enough while they expose themselves so that you can snipe them. Like it was mentioned though, some people are VERY good with the rifles. I can remember a few games where I was picked off during full sprints side to side across their view and somehow they got me!
 
This game is teh sex! I never thought I'd get addicted to a FPS but I am.

I just PRAY that COD5 is this good.
 
COD5 will btake place during WWII and not developped by Infinity Ward (but the COD3 team) so don't think it will be that good.

It's a strange decision, but I hope a good surprise.
 
The only reason why I bought CoD4 was because it was set in modern times. Hopefully they keep working on expansion maps and packs for this game because I thoroughly enjoy the way they have made this game.
 
I'll try COD 5 out at some point I'm sure, might be quite interesting in WW2.

I'm still finding the random screams of "GRANADAHHHHH!!!!!" funny in this game.
 
I'm not buying COD5 if it's set in WWII AGAIN. What about Vietnam? Or the Falklands for a change? ;)

WWII = YAWN.
 
IW are rumoured to have started work on COD 6 already, but no details were given...I hope its Nam or Birma or something
 
Call of Duty 4 map pack delayed a week, now hitting XBL April 10

The Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack will not hit this week like planned. Instead, that April 3 or 4 date has been pushed back to April 10, according to the official Game of the Year Edition website. We're betting this is the real deal, despite today's notoriety. If it's Activision's or Infinity Ward's idea of an April Fools' prank, then we're a bit disappointed by the lack of effort.
 
yeah i was bummed when i heard the news but i wouldn't have been able to get it til next week anyway so its a bonus i guess :). though i heard its gettin like released a bit later on XBL uk servers:/ which is unfair and pointless. why can't they just release it same time for everyone?
 
Playing COD4 is good for you:
Researchers at Southampton University have revealed that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the most effective video game for weight loss when played in conjunction with the latest Gamercize exercise program.

Collecting data such as BMI, weight loss and waist hip ratio using video game exercise specialist Gamercize's GZ Personal Trainer program, a random sample of 250 male and female gamers aged between 18 to 35 took part.

The results showed that gamers playing Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare lost the most weight, burning a total of up to 9 pounds on average after playing for around 9.2 hours per week over a four week period.

The second most effective weight loss game was Burnout Paradise, with users losing up to seven pounds after one month's playing, followed by The Simpsons game, offering up to six pounds weight loss over the same time frame.

Out of the three main next-gen consoles, the Xbox 360 was the most effective at burning body fat, with gamers losing an average of 1.6% fat over a month.

Interestingly, however, the Nintendo Wii, long thought of as a fat burner due to its motion controller, was shown to be the least effective with users burning up, on average, 1.1%.

"I'm very pleased with the results of this analysis, and have started discussions with a clinical centre of excellence about undertaking a major definitive study. I'm open to game publishers or console manufacturers who would also be willing to participate," said Gamercize founder and CEO, Richard Coshott.

Top three games for best monthly average weight loss:

1st Call of Duty (loss 4 - 9 lbs)
2nd Burnout Paradise - (loss 7 lbs)
3rd The Simpsons Game - (loss 6 lbs)

Top three video game consoles for the greatest reduction in body fat percent:

1st Xbox 360 - (fat burnt 1.6%)
2nd PlayStation 3 - (fat burnt 1.5%)
3rd Wii/GameCube - (fat burnt 1.1%)

there was an update on my xbox and now appears a download maps section. need to get 800 points and see if i can buy any. i'll let you know sooner or later (:
 
Yeah they are meant to be out now :DD

I will start downloading when I get back from work - Hopefully it doesn't take two days to download :((
 
are they definetly out? has any one got them for sure? because i need to buy the points of xbox first so just so i know now before i do it XD
 
I need to buy points first myself mate - haven't looked at Marketplace yet.
 
People on the xbox website are saying they are downloading them. But they might be from America. Also the bloke mentioned today a few posts up that he is getting them.
 
yeah i can't find them on marketplace but when u put cod4 in, theres bit says download map. the bummer for me is im only 200 points out :SS. so if i get points in them today. i'll let all use know if there downloadable for uk users. though people said to me that the us get it first so it may just be the us the now :|
 
It was not on the marketplace but the game asked me if I wanted them. So yes (447 mb).

The broadcast map is huge (explored it on split screen vs) but now how to be sure to play against people who bought the new maps ?
 
For those interested, XP is doubled during the week-end on the modes with new maps.

I just noticed Chinatown is a Carenton remix.
 
yeah i heard mate. im gutted i need to wait til thursday to get them :/. but from by the looks of it, its worth the wait XD
 
Perfect timing then for me! I am still waiting for SONY to send me a return mail package so that they can fix up my PS3 and send me something back (hopefully an awesomely new and perfect machine)! Even though PSN gets the shaft in regards to the timing of everything, I really haven't had any complaints about the online service for the PS3. Plus it's free, a big plus!

I have to admit, I am going to miss CoD4 though and getting the failed to connect message: server is full! -lol The only thing that has peeved me off when trying to connect with you slackers. ;p~~
