I'm really wishing it'll play / feel as incredible as it looks

I was absolutely LOVING Wukong until I got to the Erlang Shen boss fight. That fight is so absurdly unbalanced (when compared to EVERY other boss fight in the game), it's flat out comical... But dang, I can't let "one rotten apple to spoil the whole barrel", right...? I will still regard Wukong as one of the best games I played in recent years, and here's hoping Zhong Kui follows suit

August 2027 is the strongest current release-window forecast, although the game still has no announced date. The useful comparison is not just Wukong’s four-year cycle: Wukong took about 48 months from its August 2020 gameplay reveal to the August 20, 2024 release, while documented second entries shortened production by about 31% for Horizon, roughly 25–33% for Jedi and about 48% for Assassin’s Creed. Zhong Kui’s August 20, 2026 15-minute reveal leaves only 12 months to August 2027, so that is an aggressive forecast—but Game Science’s second large action RPG makes it more plausible than simply copying Wukong’s timeline.
