What a fucking 2nd goal. I tell ya, if I crossed paths with Rui Costa somewhere in Lisbon I'd get down on my knees before his presence. He is GOD! :D

I've been thinking about it, and after yesterdays performance and the interaction with the audience "E salta Rui Costa e salta Rui Costa alé alé" I made up my mind. I HAVE to buy a Benfica Shirt with his name and number on the back.

Sabem uma coisa que adoro no Rui? Ouve-se muitas vezes ele dizer que "joga à bola". Não jogar futebol, jogar à bola. Essa expressão para mim demonstra o prazer juvenil que ele ainda tem em jogar à bola, qual miudo a jogar na rua ou no ringue com os amigos.

3 goals on 160 mins (6 matches as a substitute)...not bad. I really like this fighting atittude by the team, they never give up.. Anyway, I think that this season ticket is going to get me an heart attack;)

Csauders I think Altidore is much better than Adu imo he is playing well w/ RBulls

Last week goal was better, also on the last minute, a left foot shoot from outside the box... He's been making most of his chances, he had less than 2 matches of playing and he already scored 3 goals, being decisive all 3... He still has much to learn, specially on positioning but he seems very professional..
So..it was nearly impossible to make better than he has done so far, with the playing time he has been having..

Altidore seems to be a nice player too..I wouldn't mind having him at Benfica too...but I guess he'll join any Premiership side soon..

If adu becomes a success im sure others will follow to the superliga before entering the epl especially for younger players.

well there two different players IMO... adu is more of a playmaker while altidore is an out and out striker... but the combo those guys made at the youth world cup was pretty lethal... looking forward to years and years of those guys playing together on the national team, and much better is a stretch... Lets see how well altidore does playing with real salt lake(where freddy played) Adu dominated that youth world cup... he was very impressive. Lets hope he continues his success

Would be great to see some North American pearls playing @ BWin Liga, our league is very good to develop so many talents like Adu. :)

Sal Zizzo also impressed me on Under20 WC..he's on Hannover, right? I think the US National Squad has lot of potential, with all those prospects..I always like to watch them because they give everything on the pitch, and most of them are even very creative...

In the summer I saw promising players in the youth wc and they`ll be a lot of talent coming from the bwin liga. There`s a young left winger (blonde) who is very quick and skillful is there a chance you know who im talking about?

Fábio Coentrão...he's also a Benfica player :) He's getting less minutes of playing than Adu... He was being followed by Chelsea but Benfica managed to sign him... We have plenty of promissing players, such as Adu, Coentrão, Di Maria (who won that WC for Argentina), David Luiz (who plays for Brasil)...but they're all very young so we need to 'work' on them..
Anyway, that Portuguese team embarrassed us.. They made a very bad WC, with discipline problems...we only had 3 good player, Bruno Gama, Rui Patricio (GK) and Coentrão.

I don't think so. He hasn't started any of the league and CL matches we've played lately, so it's not likely he will be in the first team. He usually comes up in the last 10 or 15 minutes to do is magic. :)

We have nothing to lose today. Let's hope we don't screw things up though.

Losing against such mediocre teams... looks like last year's 'bad luck'.. I love Celtic and it fans, but they're really weak and somehow we couldn't beat them..

Anyway, congrats to them!

I totally agree with you..Brown could have been seriously injuried on that play...besides that, he also had a kick on Jarosik that should have been punished with a card...he's got some talent but he just needs to control himself..

Benfica with a good physical trainer to give them stamina and speed (thats what they need) would rock the Bwin, i still believe Camacho will bring some one able to do that.
Either way, for you, what would be the best formation for Benfica this season? and what about the new "possible" transfers, who do you think Camacho will bring to the team next year?
