Battlefield : Bad Company Series

Battlefield : Bad Company 2 (PS3, PC and 360)

Might as well start a new thread about this game instead of using the old bad company thread.

Closed beta starts on the ps3 tomorrow and the PC version will get an open beta next month

Here is a walkthrough of what the beta will be based on

Plus a new trailer type video:

YouTube - Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Africa Harbour MP Gameplay

Also, the pc version will have 32 players online as a posed to 24 on consoles and it will be run on dx11 so expect the graphics to blow away the console version :):)

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I got a code from GAME via email.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company 1 and now 2!

Tis exclusive on the PS3, then a think a month later there is a PC beta. After all that next year the demo will hit all 3 platforms before the game is released.

why diddnt my original link work? ruin? MW2 was always going to be a pile of shit IMO.

i saw through all the bullshit. i dont care if it sold 1 billion copies. imo its a pile of shit and this game will fucking bum rape mw2.

This game offers more diversity and is trying to push the fps genra as a whole. what the fuck does MW2 do? 4 hour SP mode and the same fucking MP shit from the first one ie the 10 year old run and gun game.

 Jonney, do you suffer from blinding headaches and voices telling you to kill...

I loved how in BF Bad Company 1 you could just blast a wall open and run through the building taking out guys who were stunned and a bit confused by the smoke and rubble crashing around them. Calling in the air strikes and stuff looked awesome with the buildings exploding and crumbling.

I had real trouble going from Bad Company 1 to something like COD WAW or Killzone 2 where shooting a wall with a rocket does sod all damage to a guy standing an inch away from the blast and leaves a small dark smudge on the thin wooden fence.

Graphically as well from the videos this game looks astounding. I'd say up there with Killzone 2. Are these videos all from the pc or are they console versions? The way the guy moves in the above vid looks like console with how stiff the aiming kind of looks and how it doesn't have that free mouse aiming feel to it.

80% of my deaths so far have been via snipers.

I miss battlefield bad company - I had fun with that game. Looking forward to the next one.
i think u me and coopz where the only ones who enjoyed bad company!

At Rad, no they are all console versions. no pc vidoes shown yet. pc version will run dx11 though.

Damn I love this. My only problems at the moment are I'm used to COD style controls and on this the melee attack is R2 and crouching is done by pressing R3 which is annoying.
The other problem is there isn't really any way to tell if someone is on your side or not - I'm sure the attire differs but it hard to tell at times. Most times you can tell because the guy you're aiming at isn't on your radar and their name doesn't appear above their head but when you aim at them the name pops up so you kind of think 'well is that my guy or not?'

I differentiate by seeing if there is anything green above their head.

Minus the snipers its a lot of fun, the sound is amazing just like BC1 and the vocal stuff is great too. The little things like being told to watch out for a sniper is great.

A green icon above their heads? I've not noticed that. Ha ha

I have noticed a ton of cocks sniping on hills but when your team wake up and start to snipe back or just flatten them with tanks it all gets much much easier.

I always seem to have that feeling when you see a group of snipers - that I'm the only one who has thought 'Right I'll kill those fuckers' and has gone out of my way to come around the back of them and grenade them all to death. I hardly ever see others doing it.

In the last round I played though the snipers weren't much of a problem. The team I was on had a great balance of classes and our snipers and their snipers were taking each other out more than killing the ground units so it left the rest of us to get stuck in.

Unfortunately the game just ended randomly and we were all booted back to the main menu so I turned the PS3 off. But it reminded me of how brilliant the game is online. I ADORED the first one online until they added that extra game mode and the servers went tits up and became a huge lag fest.

Rad's colour blind.

My nephew is as well, must be a bitch for games...

Technically I'm colour deficient on a big bunch of colours. But if you try to explain what you mean by that and how it works everyone gets confused so it's easier to just say 'colour blind'. If they picked the right kind of green and red I'd have no trouble at all - but all these games developers just seem to love picking awkward dark greens and dark reds where there isn't much actual colour for my eyes to pick up and differentiate.

I'd post on the forums about it - but as always nothing happens and people just post smart arse comments like 'you don't need the colours to be changed, leave them as they are EA... this dick should just learn how to tell the difference between the uniforms".

Everyone got kicked from my last game too, must be a server thing.

Rad, I've had my nephew explain his colour blindness to me and I can just about imagine what it must be like - I think the most difficult part to grasp is how certain colours are seen as a totally different colour. If it was just "I can't see red, it just looks black to me" or whatever it would be easier to understand, but it's the part where you say "look at the big red tank" and he says "you mean the green one?" Then I sit there scratching my head and thinking "how else can I describe it"...

The wankers who say "get to know the uniforms" would soon struggle if they had the same thing. I struggle enough as it is. There was a 360 game recently that my nephew could blast through no problem, but I literally couldn't tell the difference between each side and the names that come up above the heads (to let you know they're friendly) would take a few seconds to come up. There was lots of team-killing on my part.

I can struggle when it's not blindingly obvious (pardon the pun), wasn't there a game recently where you could pick a special mode from the options menu that changed the "skin" of all the allies/enemies into bright red/bright blue versions? I'm sure there was, but perhaps it wasn't an FPS game... I remember thinking all games should have that kind of option, along with a way of distinguishing everything for colour blinded people.

I think it might have been Halo Wars.

EDIT: YES IT WAS.

I'm not sure about being able to select a specific colour, but you can select friend/foe colours in the options menu, which will make you blue, your enemies red and your allies yellow.

I just don't understand the developers unwillingness to add support for colour blind people by doing something as easy as making team mates name blue and the enemy to have no names above their heads or red names. No names used to be the standard and it worked great but recently there is this trend to have the enemies name pop up in a dark green or dark red where there is hardly any actual colour - as it's mostly made up of black to make it dark, so there is little actual colour for my eyes to pick up on.

It drives me insane. With this game I mean I can at least make an educated guess and if they're facing me they're enemies and if they have their back to me then its my guy. But MW2 is insanely hard for me when at every turn someone is jumping at you and a lot of the maps are close quarters.

I'll have to have a look again at the uniforms of the men running around and hopefully I'll spot something I can keep my eye out for.
