Ask the Dutch about the Dutch

It's funny to see how much influence one game has on some many people here. If I remember correctly Castelen started against England as a right forward and played quite a decent game. And while Kuyt or Van Persie are way more likely to play on that position (as they have done a lot of times for Holland) I still see lots of people here posting Castelen in that position in their squad because they believe he's the best man for that spot, cause they saw him play that one game in Birmingham. So seeing a player play has quite a big impact on starting line-ups..
 
Oh i see, that's why there are no blind managers at big clubs (except Danny, but that went terribly wrong).

This is one of THE most intelligent things I've ever read. I also think most people want to hear a song before they decide if it's a good song.

Interesting news about the squad: van Basten will only take 3 strikers to Germany. This means no Huntelaar I think. Since he already said he wanted Vennegoor, because he's the only type of player to win a lot of headers, in case you're down the final 15 minutes. RVN seems certain as well and Kuyt too, since he's also a candidate for playing at the wings.

How dissapointing, the way this whole thing has turned out. He really seemed to like United too, if the rumour mills are true I guess it was a clash with Ronaldo, but then I could see how Ruud wouldn't really fit in with the whole 20-ish crowd of United players (Roon, Ron, Kieran, Wes, Rio etc). Do they think he'll go back to Holland?

Let's say I have never seen Van Nistelrooy play, but I have seen Martijn Reuser play. Would Reuser be my first striker?

C'mon, you know what I mean. I have even seen posts with people saying that Castelen is a far more better player than Kuijt, Van Persie or Kalou for that position.

I think he's not yet satisfied to return to Holland yet. He wants to win the CL at one point.

I know what you mean, I was just kidding. You're right about what you say. Same thing goes for Babel who barely plays but is considered our biggest talent. Performing at the right time in the right place is the key here.

Exactly, I don't know when or where Babel made that good impression, but in the last few weeks (even months) we haven't seen anything good from him (Except his cameo against Roda). I still think tho that Babel can be great, but Ajax should loan him out to some other club in the Eredivisie.

And nobody ever answered my question about the van on the previous page, except Stan, but that wasn't the answer I was looking for. I guess the Dutch, although 68% of their economy relies on the tourist industry, are inattentive to the outsider foriegners needs regarding their country and their way of life. RBC Roosendaal relegated, Excelsior Rotterdam promoted to Eredivisie.

Other 4 top clubs from Second Division played play-offs with NAC Breda and Willem II out of the Eredivisie. NAC and Willem II won those, so they will stay in the Eredivisie. So only real change is Excelsior for RBC.

Yeah that's right, wouldn't have a clue, I'd probably point to Guam or Uzbekistan, but then you being from Holland I'm sure you would pinpoint those countries straight away, or name the 50 states when a map of the States is laid out for you. Not all Americans are braindead and I'm sure there is such a thing as a Dutch delinquent. I'm not American either by the way. So I guess this thread is football related only, what a pity, I was more interested in the country itself and was biased to that over my interest in the national team. I don't care much for Dutch club football. However I hope Holland win the World Cup.
 
Dermot, i think he just mimicked you...his reaction was very very similar to the Dutch stereotypes you were mentioning in this thread...he was merely replying by using some stereotypes about Americans and you got angry...i must say i'm surprised...
 
Yeah right, I'm fuming. My weekend is fucked now. Dutch people can be very dangerous gerd, you can't underestimate them. I want this orange bastards name, his address and where he works. I will not stop until he is silenced, i don't want my safety put in jeapordy. Fight fire with water.
