Arsenal Thread

Djourou looks like he will play against Barca and Song aswell which is a big boost. Jack and Cesc both look great and Walcott is also on form, Arshavin seems to also be gaining in confidence aswell. If Van Persie isn't injured, he is in blistering form. good signs for the game on wednesday, lets just hope for the best :DD

I don't think it is a surprise :DD

I really like Bendtner though so I find it endearing :))

His record for a player that is not a first team starter and coming off of the bench for most of his career is pretty good imo and he is getter better and better. He is a bit clumsy at times and does miss some easy chances, but he always gives his all imo and always wants the ball. I love that about him.

I would be sad if he left us and I am pretty sure if he went to another team and was one of the main strikers he would do very well.

Bendtner is a tool  When asked who is the best Striker in the World . He replied " Me of coarse " I think confident is good I just don't think Wenger shares his opinion, or he`ll be playing more . Wenger has him on the wing too! He`s not even a "ST" anymore :))

I really do think if he sorted a few things out, then he could be a really good forward. To be honest aswell he hasn't done too badly when on the wing, I think his crossing is really good.

I think his confidence thing is all blown out of proportion aswell. If you read whole original articles about what he said, it is softened a bit and is not so full on.

If he really did think he was the best in the world, then he wouldn't have been on the bench for Arsenal so long (he would have left along time ago).

I think his confidence is in that he thinks he will in the future be one of the best in the world, although it is something hard to imagine at the moment, he does have the talent and determination to be a top striker one day. I really wouldn't be surprised to see that (I know alot of other people would though :PP)

In a weekend wher everybody talks about Rooney's goal, i must say that Arsenal's second goal to me is the goal of the weekend. Of course Rooney's goal is spectacularly good, but good football is also about passing...that was one of the best counters of the season (there are two goals that are comparable a Berbatov goal against Blackburn and the one i mention below).
Together with Elmander's goal, the Nasri dancing goal and Spurs' counter attack goal (Vander Vaart) a contender for goal of the season so far...

Bendtner: gives all, but simply not good enough for Arsenal (and the jury is still out on Chamakh aswell).

Bendtner has 143 (68 off the bench) appearences and 42 goals (nearly 1 in every 3 games) and is 23 years old.

Also he has scored some important goals for us over his time.

I like him and I think he still has alot of time to improve and he will improve. At the moment he isn't first choice striker material for Arsenal, but if we sell him I reckon we will regret it in the future.

I think he might go though in the summer, because Arsene will never be able to gaurantee him alot of games.

Chamakh had a great start, but the honeymoon is over and he needs to be consistant, but it is still early days. With Van persie fit and in the form he is at the moment, nobody is replacing him for any period of time.

Isn`t that the problem Bob , a good rotation keeps players form going. Sure, RVP might get 3 chances and scores 1 , but Chamahk starting to go cold and missing.

Yeah they will get games, but with Van persie in this form Arsene will only rest him if he has to or playing against 'not as good' teams. He should use Van persie with caution though, if he gets injured again I will cry!

So it is up to Chamakh and Bendtner to perform when called on. I think Chamakh is used to playing more regularly and may find it hard to play here and there and put in consistant performances, but we will see.

by the way for some reason today I am feeling more confident of getting a good result against Barca on Wednesday :DD...it might change by tomorrow though ;))

Well Sporting Gijon nearly did it! They were leading till the 80th minute or so and ultimately got a draw.

What a beautiful goal by Barca though. Messi + Villa = MAGIC! Goal of highest individual quality. Villa made it look so simple.

In regards to Bendtner, I don't wanna repeat what Bobby's said because it's all up there but basically I'm with him. I posted that link because it's so funny not because I don't believe in Bendtner. I actually am with bobby on this one. I think the guy has the potential to be a very good striker. Will he be that for Arsenal? I don't think so... I think he will move in summer or something to a place like Werder Bremen and start shining and yeah Wenger will probably regret letting him go down the line. Not that he has a choice of course... at the moment Chamakh and van Persie are far better than him and Nick is frustrated with lack of playing time and thinks it's time for him to go.

I understand every part's viewpoints then and think they each have a case. Best solution is for Bendtner to get a move to a lesser club like Blackburn where he'll be their main striker and then he'll show his true worth and fulfill potential.

Hey,good luck for tonight guys.

I still think you will win today. We're not fit at all right now (will be in some weeks) and you seem to be at your peek, specially Walcott and RVP. The key will be speed and pression. If we manage to keep the ball far from our field, you will suffer, but I doubt we can manage to do so with our current form.

I hope we watch another intense match.

GUNNERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS - YESS!

Great comeback/victory, have to be very cautious in Spain now!
