Arsenal Thread

MOTD is a joke, they've got their agendas and they fit the highlights to what they want to say. Things like that should not be missed out.

That intrigues me...i've been following English football for at least 30 years through MOTD...god knows what really happened....maybe Newcastle did win that year and that goal against Carroll was after all validated, Brolin was a huge success and Forlan was the player he aws at the last WC...

In one sentence: would you care to elaborate?
If you don't want to go off-topic, please do it in a PM...

You can see the actual footage at Arseblog, in yesterday's post.

More disgraceful than the tackle itself is the fact that pundits at Match of the Day and Sky didn't say a word about this tackle. Instead, they critised Diaby for having a go at Robinson after that. That's f*cking disgusting, the level to which both media and the FA protect the average English thug.
This is the kind of stuff that, if it was in a street match (without match bans and career implications) Diaby would've gotten up and broken his jaw.

fucking awful that is. This is why i DONT LIKE watching motd. its a fucking piss take of a footy show.

Cant believed i missed that thanks to motd. sod you Gary Lineker you fucking prick.

discraceful indeed

Didnt get to watch the Bolton match. Reading the match reviews and interviews I got the impression that the red card situation was the one and only focal point of the match. Goes to show how they angle things

Sorry lads but I hope you lost tonight against your young brothers, the 'Arsenal of Minho'. :P You should read Braga's history, quite interesting. Good match fellas.

Taken from RedCafe:

Just a curious story...

Sporting de Braga, founded in 1921, originally had green and white shirts, as a tribute to Sporting Lisbon, because the fans who founded them were Sporting Lisbon supporters.

In the 30´s, Josef Szabo, an hungarian coach who won numerous titles in Portugal, both with Sporting Lisbon and Porto, was the manager of Sporting Lisbon and wanted to take the club to a new level.

He was authorized to travel to London to learn training methods from british clubs. In 1935 he spent a few months with Arsenal and he was so impressed that when he returned he tried to apply what he had learn to Sporting Lisbon. The players complained the training sessions were too hard and he resigned a few months later after losing support from the board.

Sporting de Braga had just won the 3rd division and were promoted to the 2nd division for the first time. Szabo joined them and he won the 2nd division in his first season there. He applied what he had learned with Arsenal, he even changed the colours of the club from green and white to red and white, with the shirts having the same design as Arsenal shirts. From then on, they were nicknamed the Arsenalistas.

Braga grew from there. They went on to the first division, being regulars since the 40´s with a few relegations in between, but have been in the first division since 1975.

Since then they also had regular appearances in UEFA competitions, namely the UEFA Cup and the Cup Winner´s Cup.

The greatest achievment of their history was to qualify for the Champions League, and who better to face in their debut than the club who inspired the pioneers who started it all?

That was easy ! :BOP: Fab does it all ....Vela is a specialist at lob shots just strolls in and tucks 2 goals I think he has 3 goals in 24 min. playing time. (compliments from Fab)

WOAAAAAAH

:WORSHIP:

4min stoppage time, goal scored from Bent in the 95th minute. says it al.

Arsenal wont win titles throwing away points like that. i wont panic but come may, we may look back at this game as the difference between us lifting the title.

ahh well shit happens. tired of being frustrated at arsenal. roll on next game

Referee should blow after Arsenal cleared the corner kick !!Stupid ref!!!The stoppage time was already ended!!

PS:Why Rosicky taken the penalty Nasri should take it !!!Oh man what and amberesment number 7 cant hit a penaly!!!Need to get rid of him if he plays like this!!!

Now that's something like it, have passed on the latest added minute to a meeting!:CONFUSE: It is a pity all players of Arsenal who already were going to celebrate a victory, and suddenly, here to you a goal. It is a pity... But Sunderland has spent very good attack which has led to a goal. Also it is similar also Venger was in shock from such result, it was visible, as he dizzily rushed about after the hammered goal on field edge, I its such yet didn't see. I hope to the following meeting with a West Bromwich Arsenal can gather and show the same good game, as before. Good luck Arsenal!:TU:

sorry but you can't complain because 15 seconds were added at the end when there had been a couple of corners and goal kicks in the added time which of course should lead to a few seconds being added. I bet most of you who are moaning now thought the ref was wrong last week for blowing up as Everton were attacking Man Utd.

Arsene Wenger is a moaning cunt who never accepts when he or his players are in the wrong. He was acting like a prick when Song got sent off but nobody could argue that Song didn't know what he was doing, he deliberately blocked Malbranque off and therefore deserved the yellow card, if that happens against an Arsenal player Wenger is the first to moan that referees aren't protecting his players.

im not really complaining. Arsene has nothing to moan about. NOTHING. if he does he is a fucking twat.

we got what we deserve, well lets be honest. arsenal deserved nothing from that game. Arsene should have got his cheque book out last summer

Arsene Wenger is a genius for getting mid-table n bottom feeder managers up n arms. If fans like yourself want to chase the bone go for it. We lost because we didn`t take our chances we were poor away nothing more to add and Wenger is a manager you wish you had  n owners too! :P

Good win!!

I know it was largely 2nd string teams out, but Wilshere ran the show and some of the one touch football being played was wonderful to watch.

By the way, I think I was your lucky charm this tonight! I watched the first half where you played some lovely football and scored the first goal, I didn't watch the 2nd half where Spurs apparently got back into the game and then I put it back on for extra time where you banged another 3 in! ;))

Convenient couple of penalties, it looked like Arsene offered a pound of jelly mixtures to the first two to get a decision in the box. Seemed way too obvious.

Your youngsters are classy, skillful and know how to link up brilliantly, it's just a shame a match that could have gone either way with my applause happily going to either for winning, ended up being decided by a non-penalty then a young lad on his debut soiling his knickers because of what he'd seen happen a few minutes previous. Modern footie at it's best.

Well done. Sincerely, you played well. Gutted we didn't nab it when we were so close even after playing so bad.
