Arsenal Thread

Irks me to say this, but i believe Walcott needed to be dropped. He's probably as quick as Lennon, but has two differences that unfortunately go against him.

1) Lennon has better ball control (Walcott tends to leave the ball behind on occassion)
2) Lennon can cross (Walcott shouldn't be singled out here - it stretches to the Clichy and Sagna too in respects).

Hopefully Theo will take this on the chin and ram it down all the critics throats and come good next season. The injury from October-March hasn't helped neither.

Funny how Barry is on the plane - fit? - but will not take part till after the group stages according to the Red Tops.

Walcott is still young and will have time to develop. From what I've seen, Lennon has been great and simply seems to be an overall more solid player with a bit more confidence.

Amen to that....^^^

Theo to me doesn't even look like a winger. I remember him playing for England U21's a few years back in the Henry role, hugging the left touchline and then cutting in. He scored 2 and everybody was raving about him, that's where I would play him. On the left....

Calm down mate, you seem quite sensitive and worried about this situation.

wouldnt you if messi wanted to leave barcelona? Fabregas is our best player so of course fans are worried and 29m? come on wake the fuck up man. This guy is one of the best midfielders in the premiership AND has 4 years left on his contract. 29m? LOL dont be silly.

Only delaying the inevitable...

Do you mean the inevitable that he will leave Arsenal this Summer or another year from now?

I think the statement Arsenal has sent out is very good and sounds like he probably wont go this season if Barcelona keep to their word and respect our position? but it is yet to be seen if they do let it lie.

If he does go this summer this statement has virtualy eliminated any thought that Fab will go for anything like the silly 30million figure Barcelona would like to pay.

So the only way he will go is if Barcelona offer a more respectable offer and by the sounds of it, they haven't got the money to offer that amount?

Anyway, very promising to hear that statement anyway. hopefully we get another season with Fab around.

Another you you 'promise' the guy titles and another year that Wengers/Arsenals pseudo Arsenalcademy team fails yet again? Come on..
Aboutreika said it all, your just delaying the inevitable.

And you must be dreaming if you can get him for cheap.

Its good to dream sometimes. You abandon the kid when he was 16 and now all of a sudden after we do all the hard work you want him back? And for 29m

The problem isn't the price. Im not going there because only the clubs can figure that out, but instead look at it like this: Every year Barcelona approach you for Cesc, every year you promise Cesc titles, titles that you end up never winning because of your numerous problems (injuries, youth, etc) someday Cesc will eventually just say 'f*ck you and your promises i want to go somewhere where i can actually win' and leaves for another club. Thats the problem of people, they get fed up of lies and broken promises and eventually change their minds. This is why i completely support Abou about you insisting on delaying the inevitable. Your better off trying a sort of 'post-zidane juventus revolution' then insisting on keeping him just for the sake of his importance for the team. Its not like your going to fail without him. Turn the page and move on.

The problem is the price. we'll turn the page and move on once you cough up 50m+. The guy is on contract for 4 fucking years. we can keep him until then and he cant do fuck all about it. How can wenger tell lies to fab about winning the title? matter of fact, name me a manager who is THAT confident that his team can win the title. Come on man jesus. The only thing wenger said to fab is probably that he said we can challenge for the top honours which we did until march/april.

i clearly dont see what wenger has lied to fabregas. Trophies are not guaranteed in this business. if he goes to barcelona now, whos to say barcelona wont win a single trophy for the next 4-5 years and then what? barcelona are liers too?

The funny thing is 29M in realistic terms is about the correct fee for Cesc but the market is so messed up and simply broken that the likes of Milner cost that much and Ibrahimovic cost more than double that.

J.Cole would be a strange signing, You already have Diaby, Nasri, Rosicky, Arshavin who can play that role and he'd become one of your highest earners.

yeah I don`t want the cole the only reason he might be link w/ us is he lives in London. He should go to RM the new kings of La Liga :JAY: was snieder a loan if so he`ll be heading back to RM so cole should go to WHU and chill avgram

Sneijder moved permanently, stupid decision to sell him.

I think Cole would be a good signing. Of all the AM's you've got none are putting in consistently good performances and when fit Cole is better than all of them bar Arshavin who he's on par with and far more reliable than anyway.

The problem is price. I think you will get him if you stop being dicks and pay what he is worth (in this climate). He obviously wants to go, but unfortunately for him we are in control of this and we wont be bullied in selling him for less.

So it is very simple, if you put your money where your mouth is, then you will get your man....over to you Barcelona, how much do you want him?

Barca have been so underhand in their dealings, playing it all out in the papers. All this shite about he has "Barca DNA". Bollox, he came to us as a youngster, we gave him his big break, stuck him the team at 16 years old. Fuck, he has been an Arsenal player for as much time as he was a Barca player during which he has played in our first 11 for virtually the entire time!

If they want Cesc, then just as Bobby says, show us how much they want him. Their offer is quite frankly a joke, double it and maybe we will talk.

I fully accept Cesc will leave for Barca at some stage, maybe this summer, maybe next summer, whenever...its his hometown club, its natural. But if Barca really want him now, then they are going to have to bend over backwards to get him.

Stop offering silly money and start being serious....

Well said. i dont know why its soo hard for these barcelona fans to understand this. i hope Fabregas has a blinder in the world cup so we can add another 10-20m on top of his current market value. That will really Piss off barcelona and gvie up persuing him.

i think Fab doesnt mind playing for us. Like he said, its up to wenger so if fabregas is forced to stay with us for another year or two he will still have the heart and desire on the pitch for us and who knows, maybe next season we may win something.

At the end of the day, 29m for fabregas is the joke of the off season transfer debacle so far. Double that price and were talking otherwise fuck right off as i have said a million times.

Fabregas needs to realize barcelona abandon him when he was 16 and realize Arsenal took him in, through him in the deep end and gave him the chance to shine. And as a reward made him our captain and practicaly our backbone of the current arsenal side.

Once he realizes this, he may not want to go to barcelona. Yea he grew up their and has family their but barcelona along with his family and friends aint all going to disapear for fucksakes. they will still be their in 10 years time.

Quick question. Does fabregas have a missus in spain/barcelona? if so then that could be another factor of leaving as you all know what love can do to your head. Also, i wonder if fabregas paid attention to how Rayes ended up after he left us to be closer to his family.

It will be interesting to see how many games Fab starts etc for spain. Could be a good indication of what footballing life might be like for him if he goes to barca this summer?

Anyway if my family were all abroad and I had been away since I was 16 and I could go back there to play with one of the best teams in the world, I would to. So I don't think we can be too hard on Cesc.

He has done all the right things so far and been very respectful of the club, so hopefully it will stay that way. It would be horrible if he started to demand to leave etc

We won't know anything for another month anyway until the world cup is over :DD

Yeah Bobby

I don't have ANY issue with Cesc at all.

Its Barca I have a problem with, the way they go about their transfer business, using the press, trying to get him on the cheap, talking about him being originally "their" property, the Barca DNA shit.

If you want him, make us a fair offer. Otherwise, fuck off.

Exactly they are doing what they are doing to make Fab go against us and make life difficult for us, so we have to sell him and for a reduced price.

It stinks and I have faith in Fab. But if they tell him that all you have to do is ruffle a few feathers to move, then the temptation might be too much.

I dont think he is that type of person, but desperate people do desperate things.

Lets hope it all doesn't end bitterly.

barca`s 1st target was Villa ,fab was smoke screen political dirty laundry .Fab ur being used if you don`t make the cut at barca they`ll sell u to serieA . cut throat business where trophies count not the player.

Why are you lot saying Barcelona "Abandoned" him? In reality you guys used a loophole to steal him away from Barcelona.

I don't think he'll push for a move but Wenger will let him go this Summer or next as long as Barcelona pay what Wenger wants.

i think Jonney said that they abandoned him, can't remember anybody else saying it?

They could have kept him if they wanted to? surely if they would have given him a better contract (more incentive to stay) etc he would have stayed with them? must have been a reason why Fab wanted to leave? not as if we grabbed him off the street and bundled him into a van.
