Arsenal Thread

Spurs in championship winning form atm, won 11 out of their last 12 but I can't see you lot losing to a Fulham side that will inevitably rest players.

Crazy how this season has gone, we don`t even have the winner of the league as of yet.
I was hoping city would get the spot just curious what superstars they were going to bring .

If City had gotten 4th place, they'd have the CL incentive along with all the money they have.

The rest of the top 4 would be in potential trouble, especially you lot, so Spurs might have done you guys a favour.

Yeah I've no idea why anyone other than City fans would want them to get in the CL? From there it's all downhill for everyone else for at least 5 years.

Its just halting the inevitable really, Spurs have done Liverpool a favour more than most unless Spurs spend big which would be interesting.

Now the prospect of Spuds snatching our 3rd is becoming more and more real, eh?

Even if Fulham rest their players, Arsene's kids can't play that shite football they showed on the last 3 games and expect to win. They haven't been wanting it enough. Play Flappyhandski and we're in for a real thrill.

After 25 min played, 2-0 to The Arsenal. Oh well, it looks like this season won't end in humiliation, at least.

Now you have jinxed it - we will lose 3-2  :PP ;))

Now that we've scored the 3rd, maybe 4-3?

With 3 down at halftime things can get nasty for Fulham, as this is shaping into a routing. I hope this doesn't shake their confidence for the Europa League final. They have my full support to win that!

Doesn't for me... so much for the 'easy run in'..

It's been a bitter pill to swallow watching players (Chelsea and United) wanting to win, whilst we have so many 'coasters'.

Oh well - at least we've got the Emirates Cup to lift in August.

Agreed. Arsenal's desire departed when Fabregas got injured IMO. After that we seemed to be missing not only the desire to win but more pertinently the conviction not to lose. Fab, Van Persie and Vermaelen are our noisy players who are visibly hurt when things go badly.

OK, it was bad luck to lose all of them at once, but you can't help but think we need a couple more characters in the side to step in when required. Campbell did a good job but he's a bit part player now (or at least should be). I'd personally like him to stay another year, for his experience alone.

They missed this important bit out of the quotes

"If I leave Arsenal it will be to play at Barcelona," he told Marca. "I do not know when it will happen, I am very happy at Arsenal and I am in no hurry to leave.

If it comes from the spanish press then it is probably bollucks. Look up what they have said in the past 3 years and it probably amounts to the same sort of shit. i think Marca are the prime newspaper for spouting shit.

but I am not saying it wont happen. But I will need to see more substancial proof and see him saying it with my own eyes, or from a respectable source.

Yes, spanish newspapers are shit as always, highlighting only what they want.

But, in the other hand, I firmly believe Cesc will come to Barcelona soon, maybe even before the world cup. The reason is clear: there are elections at barcelona. Everybody knows Cesc is target no 1 , so maybe Laporta before quiting the board or maybe Sandro Rosell (who leads the pundits) will do everything possible to bring him back, no matter the price. They even speculate to trade Toure alongside with a bunch of money.

Previous years there was talking about it, it's true, but you don't know what it is to have elections in Barcelona, sometimes it seems it's more important than the Catalonia elections themselves... people thinks of the Barcelona chairman as one of the most important things here. Not that I agree, but...

So, I think he will come here, even if right now Arsenal needs him a lot more than us. But he's turned into a media priority, so fans take it for granted he has to come.

The good thing for you is you will receive a load of cash and probably one of my favorite players (touré).

From the player's perspective, he just loves arsenal, that's obvious, but he knows he will come to barcelona. He's got friends, family and his former club. Add to this he's going to be paid more and play in a team that wins more titles lately with players he knows since childhood and like a lot. It's hard to refuse that.

I would prefer him to stay at Arsenal if it serves to win you the next EPL as long as we win the Liga next year, but truth is is see him here very very soon.
