Arsenal Thread

I think I would actually cum if that was next season's kit.

Looks like that might be a 'shop, but we are supposed to be having some kind of commemorative kit next season.

Mmm, a shame we meet in quarter finals, I would prefer to face arsenal in the final. Two teams that play the same style of football and probably the most fun to watch in my oppinion. Let's hope we have great matches and luck to the winner to lift the trophy!

Would be interesting to see how you guys take advantage of Valdez's flaws and how your defence will cope with Messi.

How Jammy is RedNose!!!

Quarter-final draw
Lyon v Bordeaux
Bayern Munich v Manchester United
Arsenal v Barcelona
Inter Milan v CSKA Moscow

Semi-final draw
Bayern Munich/Manchester United v Lyon/Bordeaux
Inter Milan/CSKA Moscow v Arsenal/Barcelona

Crazy draw. If we get to the final nobody can begrudge us getting there!

Can't see our defence holding up against Barca, but I hope I am wrong.

We are definately more than capable of scoring goals, so we will have to wait and see!

Very excited though :DD

30th/31st March. We really have nothing to lose and there will be no shame in going out to the champions. Hopefully we can use some of that spirit and really go for it rather than do the old rabbit in the headlights routine, like against Man United.

I can't understand which are Valdes's flaws. He saved Barcelona against arsenal some years ago in the final saving 2 1 vs 1 and was great last year in the champions, not to mention he's been the goalkeeper with less goals against in the last years, both in Champions and in La Liga.

Barcelona's flaws in my oppinion are more to be found in the DMF position. Busquets is very irregular there, but seems Touré is back on form, and that is a great thing for us.

Holding Messi is a whole-team-duty. You have to stop the supplies and narrow spaces, don't let him control the ball. The only way to do this is to have more possession than Barcelona and play bravely and attack. Something I think Arsenal can do. Let's see how it unfolds.

I have a feeling you'll win (Arsenal) this instead of the EPL. You just need to sort your defence and make sure the big Dane wear the right boots.

I'm in no way disrespecting Barcelona here, on the contrary, they're the best team in Europe I think, and the most entertaining. But its just a feeling.

Drekkard, When I said Valdez's flaws I didn't mean he's bad. He does have some bad mistakes which I've seen happen alot. And yes he is very good in 1v1's. But maybe he's weak with crosses, or long shots. I've seen him drop the ball quite a few times too.

Almunia... I didn't mention him because... well.. he just isn't good enough anyway. I'd rather you guys play Mannone.

And who does barcelona stop? Arsenal seems to play the same way regardless of who we put on the pitch so of you guys mark out fabregas and bendter, you still got the likes of walcott, ashavin, nasri etc etc to deal with as our goals come from everywhere.

in a nutshell, arsenal dont seem to have a player that really really makes a big difference.

people would say fabregas. yes his a great player and probably our best player but teh times we have played without him, we have coped fine imo.

i guess games like these are when players like fabregas could be missed.

imo, arsenal have to score 2 goals at least at the emirates. i know for a fact we will concede a goal at least in the emirates.

no way can we stop messi. we cant even stop drogba or rooney. imagine messi

Should be a great match, Away 2nd leg makes it even tougher. I think the problem you lot will have is your not used to getting outpassed and no matter how good any team thinks they are you will need to try and contain Barca which I can see you lot not doing.

Will Campbell definitely start? I can see Them shifting Messi to the middle to exploit that. Think you'll get smashed personally, not because your not a good team but your tactics will be naive.

To contain Barcelona we would need a different formation with much more dedication from our midfielders and wingers to help defense. A teamwork effort like Drekkard posted. But we would need much much more effort from the likes of Denilson and Diaby. Song won't stand a chance if he's left to "carry the piano" alone like he usually does.

If Wenger plays them the same way as in the Prem, we're screwed. With those set of players we cannot indulge in a head-to-head confrontation focusing on creative play, because we cannot outclass them this way. Especially without RVP, who will be the most felt absentee.

Wenger must use his experience and surprise Pepe Guardiola in a way he wouldn't see it coming.

Ugh, just thinking about Clichy/Campbell vs Messi does not bode well for us. As much as I love Messi, I think this match is gonna be a real treat. Let's hope Almunia has a great first and second leg or else we're done.

was hospitalize for 4 days come back to see Arsenal vs Barca ... not sure what to think about this. Once my meds fade away I might bring up an opinion but for the moment noooooo!!!

Nice game in prospect, now we will see which team really plays the best football.

Even though, i honestly believe Arsenal will be raped. Cesc will be marked by Yaya, Don't believe Diaby and Song are a threat against xavi + Iniesta. Sagna and clichy will get raped by Titi and Messi. Campbell is honestly awful and will need a super gallas to counter Ibra. The only one that can cause a real threat to Barça is Arshavin, and maybe Nasri but the later i doubt it. From what ive seen of him, he's overrated.

I can imagine you guys scraping a 1-1 draw away and then holding a 0-0 at home to go through on away goals.

bit harsh. We will see though :))

I really can't see how Campbell is Awful?! he hasn't done much wrong since he has come back.

The thing with Arsenal though, is we have a chance to beat them if we play our best (I think we can beat anybody on our day).

But if we play shit, we definately have the potential to let in alot of goals, which is scary against Barcelona.

If we can possibly avoid them scoring at the Emirates, I think we have a chance....but it is much easier said than done.
