yep, Chelsea (chopper harris) and Leeds (Norman Hunter) and Arsenal can never call any teams dirty ever again, because they used to have players that recieved red cards![]()
What a bad argument. Norris and Hunter played for their clubs 35 years ago.
Viera (who i wouldn't compare with Norris and Hunter, more with Roy Keane) played under Wenger...the same coach who is now complaining about "physical football"...that is a big, big difference.
But this argument starts to be unfair. I admit that Arsenal usually are a very fair team. So i will stop.
I think Campbell is their weakest link...he was very poor against (a very poor) Porto. If Wenger plays him in theCL against the big clubs...Arsenal are doomed.
Eeesh, yes my point with Vieira was that you never heard Wenger complaining about persistent fouls, or the occasionally full nasty one when the Patrick was the culprit. Similarly, you didn't hear Wenger say Gallas' challenge should have no place in modern football, and that was 2 months ago.
And for the past 3 seasons the most fouled player in the league wasn't at Arsenal.
All of these things add up to say: "Arsenal are not treated any differently than any other posession dominating, skillful teams"
(alternatively, it's all a conspiracy, and perpetuated by the FA run from a small, unused world war II bunker near Slough. Directed by Phil Brown)
Because it's a myth that it only happens to Arsenal, which is perpetuated by the manager in (I assume) an attempt to earn his team more fouls in 50/50 situations.
Watch Bolton vs United, or Stoke vs Liverpool - they employ exactly the same tactics as if they were playing the fleet-footed foxes of the Arsenal. Main difference is that some of the other big 4 have players that can take a nudge and keep going (Valencia, Drogba when he wants to, Torres before he became the winiest bitch in the league) rather than Nasri/Denilson/Fabregas/Arshavin/Eduardo/Vela who, lets face it, are teeny tots compared to most defenders.
Yes, that means that they are more nimble, quicker to turn and able to string beautiful little 4 yard passes together, but it also means that a good shoulder barge will take them out. It's a decision Wenger has made, and he has to live with it, rather than moan to the press that his team should be allowed to play how they want.
I think beachryan's point was very obvious Bobby...for someone who is constantly complaining about "physical play" Wenger never complained in Viera's time...

Errr...no, it's always been a feature of this league, long before Allardyce managed Bolton.during that time not many teams tried to kick us off the park mate. Thank Big at sam for introducing those tactics to the league
Arsenal don't have a plan B that's the problem.
He needs a plan B.
It's a shame you don't have a plan B.
What's wrong with Phil Brown? This is an honest question and i would like an other answer than "he's a cunt, or a wanker".
If he is, i wanna know why.
I hope Hull stay up, with or without Brown. It's strange there are no clubs i wanna see relegated. I guess Portsmouth will go down, but i thought at times they played good football (so here is a "litle" club that tries to play positive, look where it got them....). Burnley are not good enough for the Premiership, although they have one player i like: Eagles. I hope he can go to another Premier League. Hull: i'm a big fan of Jimmy Bullard and i also thought that they actually played very well against Arsenal (i don't understand why Bullard left Fulham for Hull, that was a step backwards). I think Wolves have played some good matches, they deserve to stay up. This year i don't really like Bolton.
On a more general note, can't players like Bullard, Steven Hunt, Altidore, Eagles, Kevin Doyle and others play for slightly bigger clubs?
Sorry to be off-topic.
