Arsenal Thread

To be honest this is the best chance you'll have to win the league for a while IMO. The top 4 aren't anywhere near the standard they have been in recent seasons. In the summer City will add quality, we might also and if Chelsea get the chance they will aswell.

Chelsea have no excuse. They dont have any serious injuries and they have not sold any key players while arsenal and manu have on both accounts.

IMO chelsea are the ones that have been poor and had arsenal and united not lost a lot of key players to injuries and transer. chelsea would be left in 3rd place away from us IMO.

I'm afraid this Arsenal team is too naive. I was at the stadium and couldn't believe Everton's 2nd goal, a brilliant finish by Pienaar I might add. But still a soft goal. Any other Premier League defence would have committed a professional foul on Cahill before he could set up Piernaar. Instead, we had Gallas and Nasri just surrounding him without even going for the ball. Didn't even try a sliding tackle at least to buy some time!

Arsenal is trying to play too clean, a trend not followed by any opposition in this league. At this rate this team can win boy scout medals at best.

What irritates me the most is nothing of that is news to any of us. Fragile at the back, not enough shots on goal. Denilson can't replace Song. Almunia = horse shit... and so on.

At least we got away with a point, but that doesn't do it for me. No offence to Everton, who were excellent today, but this was a game we should have won if we're fighting for title.

When arsenal diddnt play clean we got punished for it and was regarded one of the most dirtiest teams in the premiership.

ppl will always find reason what Arsenal needs to do to win it.I always heard Arsenal needs to win ugly or needs to salvage a point when it seems intangible . We have won ugly and drew this season ,but We are having Villa,MUtd,Pool and Chels :CONFUSE: in the next few weeks . So reality is Arsenal is facing a massive GIANT! the good news is we won`t face them again and we need to make-up any ground on smaller table teams for the rest of the season. We know how hard that could be so, If we finish in the 2nd spot I will be proud nonetheless w/ a trophy of any kind will due for mae!

What makes you think the other teams wont drop points againts the lesser sides?

Its an interesting season and even by some miracle we manage win all our games in late jan/febuary, it doesnt mean anything as we could drop points at the end of the season.

for me, the most important run to fire in all cylinders is the games from March onwards.

I`m only concern w/ Arsenal and how they perform I can`t predict what utd or chels will do they been on top for awhile too regardless how many pts. they lose they always seem to end on top. They probably don`t even know what qualifiers for CL means. :p

I strongly agree but in hindsight if we are not able to get good results at that point heads really need to roll

most important is to have consistency throughout and grinding results and taking advantage when those on top :BRMM:
Arsenal and mUtd slipped and Chels is still on top ...

If we get through those 4 games at the end of Jan early feb with 8 points I will be happy. 10 would be brilliant and 12 I would jizz my pants!

mmmm....

Arsenal v Bolton Wanderers
Premier League
Wednesday 20th January 2010
Kick Off: 7.45pm

playing back 2 back at least Cesc will be in the fold

I was talking about it to a few City fans at work today and they didn't seem bothered! I don't think I'd be too happy if Berbatov did an interview in some Spurs teamwear.

It wouldn't bother me to be honest, He played for Arsenal and obviously apart from the fall out with the fans enjoyed his time their. Would be very different if he'd never played for Arsenal

We contacted Ade 1st might be the reason why he felt to send a message of Thank you by wearing the shirt. Its all speculations ,but Mancini calling Ade vs Arsene calling him makes it more personal than professional. Wenger still keeps in contact w/ past players and never talking bad about them.

Adebayor, wearing the Manchester City away shirt, said: “I realised this morning when I woke up that I was wearing an Arsenal shirt yesterday. What happened was that on the Angola border, we left all our baggage on the bus and ran away. So I had nothing to wear and the first person I asked gave me that shirt. I didn’t even realise what I was wearing. Even yesterday, instead of going to my room to sleep I went to the wrong room. Everyone is confused about what happened. In our heads we don’t know what we are doing.”

We bought another baby to add to the nursery and that`s when we`re 3rd spot w/ 3 pts. trailing the leader ffs! I remember when we last won the title it felt like ages  and we brought in a lil` speedster Reyes to help the 1st team in the mid-transfer window. That was brilliant! I hope Wenger has a rabbit in his hat and not another rattler... Just say No for bitty!!!

According to Wenger:
"Galindo is a player who has good technique. He's intelligent, 6ft 2in tall, left-footed with good stamina. He is a central midfielder who can give good balls. He has good vision too which we like here."

Great result for us yesterday. Although our defence looked really suspect at times and Bolton could have easily got a couple back, I think it showed great character.

Lets hope we can get the same score on wednesday and go top of the league!....for a little bit anyway :PP

Nasri and Ramsey now out for 2-3 weeks aswell  our team is really thin now. But we have Clichy back and Fab. Hopefully Bendtner aswell soon, so hopefully Merida can step in for a bit and play well and we should be ok....hopefully ;))

COME ON ARSENAL!!!!

We have this strange culture over here of blasting divers or handballers, what we like to distinguish as "foreign cheating", as none of 'aur lads do it.

Yet when there's the sneaky stamping, elbowing, shirt pulling or time wasting, it doesn't get half the backlash.

If we want to kick cheating out of football we shouldn't pick and choose the ones we're not bothered about, we should criticise all forms.

Yeah I thought it was disgusting what Taylor did really. He should be retrospectively punished for it, it was pretty much unprovoked. Fabregas doesn't seem nearly as mouthy and irritating as Ronaldo was but still seems to get his fair share of stick from oppostion players but he handled it well considering he should have had a penalty too so fair play.

I agree. Many players may justify the diving with these sorts of tackles.... If they don't always dive, some of these tackles can do serious damage. Kaka is never the same as 3 years ago and was complaining that defenders were purposely targeting his ankles... now he's so fragile and lacks the speed he once had. Hopefully Pato wont end up like that.
