Arsenal Thread

of course when people boo or say someone is shit etc it will bring someone down. But a strong willed person will question themselves and why it is happening and try and correct it. Not just stagnate and demand to be praised no matter what and don't accept any of the criticism coming your way.

Its a vicious circle anyway. If Adebaypr showed heart and desire and played well, then no body would be on his back in the first place. But if we didn't show our unhappiness all the time maybe he would have played better. But we didn't, he was weak willed and sulked. So we got on his back more and so on and so on etc etc

Anyway I feel like I am repeating myself over and over, so I will stop there :DD

Oh yeah and it goes and says something about someones character when they try and unsettle some of our other team mates, after they have left. Like Adebayor has been doing with Toure.

haha thats why i told that guy needs to re-read your post

can we stop talk about adebayor and start talkin about how arsenal will do great this year and how we need a DMF =p ahah. seriously the dudes gone. now lets get hunterlaar ahha =p

You need to buy some players full stop, even with the talent coming back you don't have the depth to compete on two fronts let alone four.
Unless you have some wonder youth we don't know of I feel you are two if not three good players short...

If we get that experienced midfielder we need to partner cesc, I think we are more than capable of going for the league and champions league. definately if we get another striker to replace adebayor aswell. but I don't neccessarily think we will need that. I have a feeling Bendtner is going to do really well this season. Along with Eduard, who if stays fit will always get goals and also Van persie, I think we will do well. But of course it all depends on injuries and thats what fucks us up everytime!

Details of goals scored by Adebayor last season:

With Fabregas:
Blackburn – 3 (header + penalty)
FC Porto – 2 (header + penalty)
Fenerbahce – 1 (one on one, through ball provided by Fabregas)
West Ham – 1
Tottenham – 1 (tap in)
Wigan (one on one, assisted by Fabregas)
Middlesbrough (header from a Fabregas corner)
Manchester City – 2 (one on ones, both assisted by Fabregas)
Villareal (bicycle kick, still the pass was Fabregas’s)
Villareal

Without Fabregas:
FC Twente – 1 (one on one)
Hull City – 1 (header)

I found this pretty interesting we know how important service is and we know how important when service get`s a helping hand

That's quite interesting, especially considering Fabregas didn't have the greatest of seasons, last season, well not as good as his 06/07 and 07/08 seasons anyway.

To tell you the truth I'd rather not sell anyone, because Wenger simply isn't replacing anyone! It's a scary thought for everyone, it seems, starting this season without that experienced DMF. However, Wenger really seems to think he can survive with the likes of Denilson, Diaby and Song filling that role. It's not like they're gonna step up overnight. When I think about this scenario, flashes of that 4-4 at Anfield come back to haunt me. That late equalizer is the classic example of a team who can't defend a lead and doesn't have midfielders with defensive habits. We need 1 or 2 guys in the squad who actually know when to track back and defend. If AW insists in this current path, I'm afraid I can see Arsenal having a mediocre defense once again.

As for a replacement for Ade, it's either buy someone like Huntelaar and use Bendtner as substitute, or trust him to be our starter CF and buy a lesser known young CF, but with the same characteristics (strong in the air). But for that second option to happen, Bendtner must be ready, and I trust no one more than AW to know this.

ok...while Song is of some use, Diaby, although strong and tall like a DMF should be, and Denilson are completley useless!
we could have some decent player to use as exchange material or sourse for money (e.g. Senderos, Diaby, Denilson) to get through some good transfers.

p.s.: interesting sign: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/van-persie-new-striker-will-strengthen-team I don't think RVP is just talking to waste words.

but don't forget the bloody DMF!

God know's what's going on - We let three DMF leave and since then, zero have come in.

Gilberto -> out, Flamini -> out, L. Diarra -> out.

i'm struggling to think who we'd buy at the moment in DMF. Melo was an excellent option, but we moved too slow. He looked like the perfect foil for Cesc's attacking play.

If we sell Toure and don't replace him we are asking for trouble. It also leaves us needing a Defender, Midfielder and maybe striker.

Hopefully Wenger has plans for purchases in the next couple of weeks....I really do hope.

For midfield though I don't think Denilson is useless at all. I think he will come good. Also Song has shown that he can play well in that role, but not consistantly, hopefully he can do a flamini and just click and be brilliant there. Diaby needs to get a grip, he could be really good. But he just doesn't seem bothered at times, which is strange.

I really hope he doesn't rely on them though, but as the pre season gets shorter and shorter I fear that thats what Arsene will do. Hopefully not!

If he gets rid of Toure and then buys nobody else, we are fucked! no two ways about it!

He inspired me with a little hope when he said he wanted all his signings finished by pre-season.

We've signed just Vermaelen, season starts in about 2 weeks, and that doesn't bode well.

why the fuck would you want tore to go? who you want to replace him? senderos? gibbs? come on mate i hope you was being sarcastic.

He clearly doesn't want to play for the club, he did put in a transfer request didn't he?

No respect for the fans, bad bloody between him and Gallas surely isn't good for the team.

You forgot Thomas Vermaelen and Silvestre

So we more than ok right?

Those defenders are experienced and not coming off a year in the injury room.

Sell!

New DM on the way :BOP:

Toure was always going to be on the bench this season if he stayed. Gallas and Toure are similar defenders. Vermaelen and Gallas with Senderos, Silvestre and possibly Song as backup.

How can you be so sure? Arsenal just got 25M for Ade and as far as we know Arsene might be doing nothing with it.

Regardless of dressing room issues, Touré is our best and most reliable and classy defender. The thing between him and Gallas is more the other way around. Gallas seems to be the one to have problems with the rest of the squad. In that incident that led him to be stripped off captaincy he had already shown his true colors.

And Sylvester? You must be kidding...

That's all I hope :)

It looks like City really are going for Touré... How many years does Touré have left on his contract? If AW is to sell him, he should play hard ball and ask 20M. City don't care about money anyway...

ah ha The money!!!

:BOP:

We have enough defenders, ask Wenger he will tell you

Do not forget Traore, Song, Eboue

Sell him and lets HOPE everything will be alright, God is a Gunner afterall :BOP:

no we dont. Traoe and song a re both not proven defenders. Eboue looks to be set to leave too. Shit if you think silvesta is a worthy replacement, i have lost all respect for you

haha nice joke. got me in stitches especially that bit when you called him a world class defender :LMAO:

if he is a world class defender, senderos must be the god of all defenders :LMAO:

Let's just leave it, the guy is definitely making jokes on us

He's not that bad, last season when he played for you it was on the back of hardly playing for a couple of years due to injuries. He is a good defender, he just needs games and consistency.

Toure goes off to the ACN too for a month or so and he has been looking to leave for a while. You'd make more money from him than Gallas anyway so it's not such a bad idea and anyway, he was awful for a large chunk of last season, only picking up form again near the end of the season (angling for a move away??).
