Arsenal Thread

congrats!

 been 9 years

You're welcome...

You don't have a clown in your back four so you should be alright.

Who's the clown in question? Demichelis or Clichy? Well, I know I don't miss Clichy too much.

I didn't watch the match, so I was baffled to hear City lost at home! Wigan, even as a Championship side, seems to be your nemesis, eh!

Football is unpredictable. People will say Arsenal has to win it, and while it's true it's ours to lose now, City had to win that match. But there you go! This sort of thing happens.
Being underdogs always is the more comfortable role, and teams like Wigan revel in it.
Let's hope no more surprises happen and we can lift the damn thing! :D

I'm predicting 1-3 to us and we go through on away goals :DD

We get 2goals in the first 20mins, they bombard us until the 80th min when they score, it looks like we are out but we make a break on goal and Cazorla has a one on one with the keeper And chips it over in the 89th min for us to win.

You have to have a bit of hope ;))

Tuff game for sure

I'm not delusional in thinking we'll win tonight , but won't be enough to go through. It will kick start the rest of our season me think!

Damn it! I was looking forward to this game but now that I know what's gonna happen I don't think I'll watch , no more fun when you know result goalscores and even minutes of goals :/

If we're honest, it's not looking good for us, guys. All I hope for is that our team avoids an embarrassment in Munich and puts in a valiant and real ballsy display to help lift our confidence. We have to keep up the momentum of that 4-1 win against Everton somehow.

For tonight's match:
Arsenal has a suspended keeper and injuries to Walcott and Wilshere (certain) and Ramsey, Koscielny, Monreal and Kallstrom (all still returning from injury).

Bayern has... everyone available! Even Ribery returning today.

If you compare both teams form guide, Bayern has a scary constant winning record - as a matter of fact, they stuck at least 4 goals against their opponents in the last 5 matches (apart from Arsenal at the Emirates).

So it's really a case of against the all odds.
Maybe we could pull off a shocker if Bayern has Neuer sent off early, like it happened to us, or any last man red card for that matter.
But even if they ever have to resort to a last man foul, chances are the UEFA ref (which no doubt will be one of those Arsenal-hating pricks like Viktor Kassai, Massimo Busacca or Damir Skomina) won't send anyone off.

But apart from playing against all odds and all that, the reason I'd be really happy to see Arsenal beat Bayern by any score is to break their unbeaten run. They're on a 49 game unbeaten run! Just like our very own unbeaten record from 2004 :)
So I'd love Arsenal to put an end to that and to achieve that anything goes. Even a Rooney-like dive inside their box would be welcome :P

Martinez = BFF (Big Fucking Fairy)

Seriously. Thought he shed some tears there.

Reminds me of when Ribery got Rafael sent off 2 years ago. Rafa lightly brushed Ribery's chest and Ribery went down holding his face as if Rafael had just ripped a horrendous, ruining scar...oh....

:NONO: only in the bundesliga

Ah yes, thats true. It's up to a Bundesliga team to stop them.

Wow, I didn't now Javi Martinez was such a cheat! He's making Sergio Busquets look like sportsman of the year. The man has been diving more than Robben, even!

Podolski's hand merely brushed his cheek and he went to ground and stayed there for almost 2 minutes and even had the medics coming for him!
It's unbelievable that nowadays players still do that kind of thing, in the knowledge that there are hundreds of cameras pointed at them, and still they get away with it.

A team like Bayern really doesn't need that type of cheating and time wasting. And it's not as if Arsenal is dominating the game either.

we need to just go for it in the second half, fuck it. even if we get beat 4-0 just go for it and try. the way we are going now nothing is going to happen.

This is what Rio Ferdinand posted and I agree 100% (also with Beach and Godo)

"After going to the England vs Wales rugby game, watching a footballer roll around after a little tap on the face as if poleaxed is embarrassing!"

Edit: Same goes for Robben, fuck sake...

Wow, I stand corrected. Robben still IS the biggest cheating cunt in football.

It was a foul on Lahm actually, but they've been diving all night long, so what did you expect. The boy who cried wolf, isn't it?

Now look at Martinez AGAIN. Cazorla is half his size, but he took Martinez to the ground with a touch of hand - and Cazrola would be through on a dangerous counter too.

And as I type this, I see yet another Robben dive, FFS!

I hope Bayern doesn't win this CL again, this sort of behaviour is unacceptable. I cannot stand to see it rewarded.

Arsenal just aren't 'risking' enough. Still need two goals, but aren't committing men forward. It's bizarre.

The opposite of the kitchen sink.

Maybe it's just me, but if I was a Gooner I'd at least want my team to try. Bayern hasn't been impressive this match and Arsenal never properly tried to attack. Did they (Wenger) think it's better to not get routed than to give it a go?
