Arsenal Thread

MLS team just won the title, NFL team won superbowl only team that hasn`t won was NBA Nuggets and that was spending big on Allen Iverson and Camelo . Rumors has it Kroenke said get Allen here whatever it takes. His missus is richer than him too must be nice. As long as he doesn`t borrow money to buy the club he should sell one of his clubs. According to the sport world in the US he is a shadow. He owns one of the biggest Sporting Goods across the US "Dick`s Sporting" Missus is part of the Walmart family to think Hillary Clinton work on the board of Walmart.

But!I sort of like the fact we`re not own by one person ,but a large entities.
His nba team, nhl team AND hockey team have all won lots of silverware.

The danger of the takeover is that fans will espect major investments, i.e. high profile transfers. I honestly can't see this happening.? Kroenke strikes me as a reasonable man and not a sugar daddy.

I just read that Arsenal is one of the six premier league clubs that are making profits (besides them Man Utd, Liverpool and the 3 promoted teams, but that seems to be normal and temporary according to Deloit).

...and that comes to show my deep knowledge of American sports! :FAIL:

Well, Colorado Rapid his team won ,but what I forgot to mention Arsenal send coaching staff and young players to train w- the MLS team a few years ago in 2008. Which the labors of the fruits showed!

I heard AST are not willing to part ways ,it would be nice if they can hold on to that *shares* and work together! :BOP:

HOW MANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****ING JOKE!!!!!!!!!!

That's the most literate I've seen from you Jonney. ;)

But agree with the sentiment, Arsenal were doing their usual, i.e. nice play but very little end result. They really should have been able to beat that Liverpool team.

When has it ever been pathetic to draw 1-1 with Liverpool? A Liverpool team that beat Man City 3-0 earlier in the week. Pathetic would have been to be totally outplayed at home, which we weren't.

i'm sure you already wrote that comment out Jonney and were just waiting to copy and paste it when something went wrong in the next few games.

We all know you want Wenger sacked Jonney, can you stop saying it every time we lose? it is getting tiresome...

It was an extrememly tough ask to win all of the next games, I was hoping we would, but that is life. Liverpool are a much better team than they were a few months ago, so there is no shame drawing with them.

Just waiting for us to lose against Spurs now and Jonneys head to explode! :DD

This is our 3rd draw at home! We have the best away record in the league and average at home. Someone needs to point out why or how?

i did not see the fighting spirit. either at blackpool or today. very disappointing.
sure we can blame the fucking reff for adding 4 mins to the already 8 mins of added time, but we only have ourselves to blame. eboue?! wtf?! he's 27 and should know better than to do stupid things like that at a moment like that. but that liverpool attack made us scramble like headless chickens. these players can't take pressure. leading and experience is needed badly.
a good thing was that diaby played good and really won balls as a dmf. good for him. he might still turn good.

it's sad because you can't look at one player and have confidence in him that he'll keep the team's spirit high in tough moments.

Mate if your looking at todays results through the window it will appear that a 1:1 draw against an in form liverpool side is a good result but it is not once you step inside and see the whole picture.

Arsenal scored a penality on the 97th minute it was. With 1min left to play, it was almost impossible for liverpool to come back but somehow they do by Eboue gifting a "pathetic" penalty.

When u take account all the things i have said, it is a pathetic result. So i fully disagree with you there in your first sentence.

Even if we didn't score in the 97th minute it would have still been a draw. If the ref didn't add on more minutes it would have been an injury time winner and you could have said that we never gave up until the very end! that shows fight?

You can say the penalty was 'pathetic' but that was one players action, not the teams.

If it makes you feel better, United let a 2 goal lead go injury time earlier this season against Everton. It happens. To even the best managers.

Still, I cannot believe that stat about having 16 penalties this season. I've seen most and they've all been justified to my knowledge, but that is literally one every two matches. To put it in context, United have had 6!

16 pen. well, it seems normal for a side that mainly uses short passing to create their chances. Mutd does mostly high tempo counter-attacks (using safe words not to start anything) or run the corners and low-cross into the path. mutd also gave Fulham a draw too in injury-time.

i would have still been upset if it was a 0:0 draw but not THIS upset. it was a must win game for us and we blew it. fact is. we was a minute away from grinding out a win and we blew it in a pathetic way.

o and i blame the team because how the hel did they get that free kick in the first place? why diddnt we defend better after we scored? liverpool where all over us at that time

from Arseblog:

And, honestly, despite the fact I’ve never seen anything like that before, there was an air of inevitable familiarity to it. I wasn’t angry, just disappointed, but slightly bemused also. Bemused that this Arsenal team keeps showing me things I never thought possible, that they come up with ever more inventive ways to chuck away points.

That sums up our title challenge pretty well.

I honestly think you'd have no problems finishing games if you actually had a shot outside the six-yard box.

That's not meant as an insult but you don't have that surprise element of a striker (or midfielder etc) having a pop from 20 yards out, you just know that you're going to try and walk it into the goal. While it looks pretty and can cause havoc in defence at times, you lack that ... aggressiveness and unpredictability. Someone like Drogba is the one I keep thinking of, someone who'll whack a shot if he gets a good amount of space, he'll bulldoze through defenders and play a bit more aggressive.

As it is, there's just not enough bite in the team in general. As Pipa said, you're lacking the leaders that you've had in the past. If you get a good leader or two in, and start to man up a bit and have a shot now and then, I really can't see why you wouldn't win the league. You've gotten this far without the leader and that striker, you'd probably storm the league if you just sorted that out.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea lack something. If both teams had something from each other (Chelsea needs Arsenal's creativity and Arsenal needs Chelsea's power) they would be more effective.

I still can't work Chelsea out. On paper, that is far and away the best team in the premier league - and their beginning and end of season form shows that. What happened in the middle though?! Was it just Frank's absence?

Such a weird year. I haven't ruled out Chelsea yet, they have an easy run in and if Arsenal and them beat United...

Only United fans still doubt that they will be champions. i don't understand it, because it seems that this is the most vulnerable United team since Ferguson is at the helm. Add to that all their injuries and winning the title will be a huge, huge and well deserved achievement.

About Chelsea: both Cl matches against United werte typical: they lack creativity
I don't understand why Benayoun never plays, he is a creative player. Besides that Lampard is having a disastrous season (IMO still the most creative English player by his clever passing, but this year he was way under par) and it is clear that Torres has to play...Torres in his current form is a shadow of both Drogba and Anelka.

My concern about declaring the league over is that we're so inconsistent. We were immense against Chelsea, then terrible against City. I could absolutely see us losing 3 more matches, and that would seriously open the door to Chelsea (who could easily win out)
