Arsenal Thread

Class from Adebayor, those Arsenal fans are a disgrace, almost killing a steward.

Tried very hard to get on the park to get at him eh with the 3 stewards and couple of police...............hahaha!

Fans can't take it after dishing it out.

Almost killing a steward.....

Don't suppose you actually go to any games then? Its very easy as a fan to get carried away in the moment....Adebayor as a professional has a duty to keep a lid on it regardless of what is being taunted from the stands...thats one of the reasons he is paid so much.

Did Sol cambell ever acted like a dickhead when he moved to arsenal and faced spurs numerous times?

I wonder what Wenger is suggesting here about Ade's stamp on Van Persie:

"I played football and I know exactly, in a fraction of a second, when you know your body well, where you leave your foot in or you pull out. You know exactly at that fraction, you can injure somebody or you cannot injure somebody and you ease off or you leave your foot in."

I think he might be saying, in a round about sort of way...... "ADEBAYOR IS THE BIGGEST CUNT IN THE WORLD!!"

That's what you get when you underestimate your opponent... :)

Still I believe Standard will crack under pressure further in the game, when Arsenal move their game up.

Good game to watch!

I think this season we are going to have to win alot of games by scoring more than the other team (Duurr :PP). By which I mean our defence wont be the strongest so we will leak goals. But aslong as our players and team can score more, we will be fine :DD

Typical Arsenal, cheating their way to CL victory again.

;)

Song made a hands on Arsenal's second goal...but still i think Arsenal deserved to win.

it was an offsides to begin with and a hand ball to keep it in play...SL parked the bus and when they had a ball up the pitch they didn`t have any help :( was shocking because they were up to the task

I was very upset and started to say "why?! Lord?! why?...even Fab is wasteful tonight" then Bend scored and the cheat goal and Banned and not banned anymore Eduardo scores :SMUG:

This may seem rather illogical, but i think the early 2-0 lead was not a good thing for Standard.
The plan was to play very offensively and keep Arsenal back. This may seem overoptimistic, but last season they managed to do that in their home matches against Liverpool, Sevilla and Sampdoria.
After leading 2-0 they let Arsenal come and Arsenal could develop their usual play (albeit not as good as usual). That meant that the Standard players had to run an awfull lot...once Jovanovic got injured, they had no link between target man Mbokani (who played a weak match) and the rest of the theam...
This Standard team is less good than the team that narrowly lost against Liverpool last year: Fellaini, Dante and Onyewu are gone and Defour (the leader of the team) is out injured...i know Arsenal had more injuries...but it hurts more to Standard.
All in all a rather encouraging start, but they missed an unique opportunity to win points against such a big team...at the Emirates when Arshavin and all the other injured players will be back, the difference will be enormous.

About fucking time i would say! most decisions go againts us

Tell that to Standard...
I know you are a fan, and i still think Arsenal (sometimes) plays the most attractive football in the world, but this is a very short sighted answer.
Can't you see that that attitude is bad for football.
And in the end, what is bad for football is bad for clubs (yes even Arsenal) and ulitimately for fans...
Do you want to win at all costs (by cheating, by referee errors) ? I don't...i used to be a Man Utd fan for almost 30 years...i got fed up with them because of their mentality to win at all costs (Keane !!! Ferguson !!!! Ronaldo !!!)...i guess this makes me a loser...but i don't care...

It's swings and roundabouts - Lots of decisions go for and against each team. You just got to hope in the long run they cancel eachother out.

The only way to limit incidents like these, is to use a fourth official that looks at a quick video replay to determine the outcome. Until this happens, we are relying on what people see in a split second and mistakes are always going to be made.

Well arsenal have been playing fairly and not getting any dodgy decisions for them for 4 years and how many trophies have we won in that time frame?

How many have Manu won? chelsea? heck even Barcelona? You need dodgy decisions,, cheating and Money to win things. its quickly becoming a fact.

yeah gerd I was upset watching the Arsenal, this thing w/ winning ugly is not my cup of tea. I wouldn`t want to win like this and hopefully we won`t start. I love winning in style ,what`s that word? awe yes! Champagne Football! :BOP:

Theo said we need to win ugly...not loving it but will take it for the moment

Don't be a tool jonney. All teams big and small get bad decisions for and against them. You dont need to cheat and get dodgy decision to win things, although obviously money helps (no guarantee though, look at Leeds/Newcastle), I just think that's such a stupid thing to say.

I do think having SAF the boot thrower ;) on your side does help. When he barks more than a few turn to listen. When rafa barks they mocked him. Wenger does complain and hardly sees things but that`s his settle way of barking. I know I just confused the lot with that analogy...:FAIL:

I agree teams get unlucky shouts and some harsh fortunate breaks.

maybe not cheat but certainly dodgy decisions help otherwise last champions league final would have been between chelsea and manu

And the FA Cup final would have been between United and Chelsea too, so it works both ways.

All teams get poor decisions in their favour and against them, it evens out. People are only interested in the ones that go against them and go in favour of the big teams they hate, all the rest get ignored.

We had loads of legit goals disallowed for offside last season and they dont get mentioned, some didnt even make it onto the highlights on MOTD! But one debatable penalty decision and everyone starts with the SAF bribes the ref bullshit that comes out everytime. If there's a crap decision that changes the game in Wigan vs Hull, nobody really cares cos it doesnt involve the Big Four (who the media are obsessed with) so it doesnt get coverage, and not many other fans would watch that match anyway, and it gets forgotten about.

Infact Arsenal are a good example. You had the penalty against Celtic and the handball last night go in your favour... but if Adebayor had've got sent off for raking RvP then City may not have gone on to win that match so it went against you.
