Arsenal Thread

really well played last night lads, best away performance I have seen since we beat Roma 0-2 last season

Agreed, we played really well but could do with closing down players on the edge of the area to stop long shots. And i think keeping Song to the midfield is a good idea after his positioning against everton.

Oh, and i found this funny (but do feel sorry for them):

I heard Juande Ramos got caught speeding the other day. Apparently he will do anything for 3 points.

Good news on Eddy - not so much on Rosicky!

Eduardo close to Arsenal comeback

Arsenal striker Eduardo should be back playing competitive football in three weeks, says manager Arsene Wenger.

The Croatian international suffered horrific leg and ankle injuries at Birmingham on 23 February and there were fears for his career.

But having undergone surgery the same day he was injured, the player has been working hard on his fitness ever since.

The next round of the Carling Cup is just under three weeks away, when Arsenal are at home to Wigan.
But the outlook for midfielder Tomas Rosicky is not quite as positive.

The Czech international, who has not played since January because of a hamstring injury, will not return until after Christmas.

The AGM took place yesterday with shareholders and supporters groups present as the club gave its presentation. Some of the main issues in bullet points:

* Chairman Peter Hill-Wood assured fans that the club would not sell out to foreign owners, saying "Arsenal runs through my veins and we do not want control handed over to somebody who has not got Arsenal in their blood. Rest assured, we are not going to sell out to the first man who comes along".

He also said 'expenditure on players' remains the top priority.

Interesting that he didn't say expenditure on transfers.

* A new MD will be appointed 'fairly shortly'. The delay is down to making sure they find the right person and not being 'inept'.
Stan Kroenke was officially introduced as a member of the Arsenal board
Three new busts were unveiled - Denis Hill-Wood, Herbert Chapman (as the old one remains at Highbury) and Arsene Wenger.

* Arsene Wenger won't rule out January signings but has urged fans to be more vocal in support of the young team, saying younger players need more help from the crowd.

* Eduardo is set to return to full training in about three weeks and once he builds some match fitness will be available for selection. Good news. Not so good for Rosicky whose return is now expected 'after Christmas'. Which year was not revealed.

Even Tescos is in on the joke :APPLAUD:

2:0 arsenal. well done. grinded out a result and where now back in the title hunt despite losing 2 games already. is till feel that we will fall short has if we lose two more games I reckon that's our campaign finished in the league

felt bad for Robin not getting on the score sheet and Ade walks up and 1 assist og and a goal (he actually waited on the line :APPLAUD: )

Again we are still missing the something in our team. But i never really imagined Ade to come and change the whole game. I'm sure West Ham would have conceded more if Ade played from the beginning.

For me Ade and RVP should start every game, they both offer something different. Ade has technique, can finish, can hold the ball up and will rough up any defenders.

love it!!! where you been mate - ain't seen you for sometime! ;)

Heh, yeah soz, been working hard recently. Less time to lurk on videogame forums ;)

Going to the Sp*rs game tonight though :BOP:

I have a slight feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach... but then I always do before a biggie.
