2 Installations of Pes2008

what ive done is make duplicates of cv_0, cv_1, rv_e, and pdata.

this way, i can have one set for the championship patch, and one for the default which i use Kitserver on. im in the process of making a program to automatically change the names of these files so you can switch between patches with a click!

that would be cool, so at the moment its a case ofmoving the files when you want to play online or the championship patch (which i also have)

in my img folder i have all the files, then when it comes to those files i have:

cv_0
cv_0_champ (for championship patch)
cv_1
cv_1_champ
rv_e
rv_e_champ
pdata
pdata_champ

obviously, the game only uses the default names, so if i want to play the championship patch, i use my program to rename the files. it changes the cv_0_champ to cv_0 and the original cv_0 to cv_0_def (for default)

and, i can also do it the other way around etc etc...

if i could put it in an .exe id release it for everyone

sounds a cool program, get the gist of what needs to be done, just wondering how the other guy got two versions going at the same time unless he's doing it the same way as you

sorry, forgot to add the exe needs to be changed too..

its most likely he just copied and pasted the exe of pes and ran it twice? lol i dunno

In all previous PES games it was easier just to make a copy of the exe and then edit it with a hex editor. All the filenames for the data files where in there, so you just edited them, renamed the files and done.

There was also the ability to edit the folder name (dat->da1) so that you don't have to rename all these files, but simply copy them to another folder, but i remember that because of it's name (dat) you had to do alot of trail an error to find which of the several appearances of "dat" refered to the folder. (It's img in PES2008 which might make it a litte easier)

Carefull though, in almost any case of hex editing strings in an exexecutable you have to keep them the same size, e.g. cv0.img->c11.im1

I haven't tested with PES2008, but it should be there.

Not sure if it works in pes 2008 but my method in pes 6 was:-

Right click on your Konami folder (in programme files) and copy and paste it back in same place but with a different name KonamiA or whatever.
Then you can edit one installation as much as you want and select which one you want to play by changing the name of the folder to Konami (obviously only one at a time can have the correct title so the shortcut will look for the 'C:\Programme Files\Konami and play whichever 'installation' you want it to.

Like i said worked fine for me on pes 6 but i've never tried on pes 2008 as i gave up on online ages ago

Hi, is there a simple way of using different optionfiles?

I don't want to use different *.img and patches! I have created my own and im satisfied with it!

I only want to change the optionfile at the start of PES 2008. I use one for Masterleague, one for tournaments with friends where each player has a self created team, and so on...!

At the moment I copy the optionfile I want to use from a backup-directory to the Konami-save-directory. But you have to be very careful not to mess up the different optionfiles, as they all have the same name.

So is there an easier way to do the whole thing?

P.S. I hope my problem is clear, becaue my english isn't the best. ;)
