10AM Gameplay Overhaul Powered by AI – Realistic, Tactical, Immersive (TU19 Update!)

I've updated the mod to TU18!! 😁
My recent work has focused mainly on enhancing attacking off-the-ball movement and making CPU attacking behavior more realistic and dominant. I've also resolved some bugs related to lobbed through passes and fine-tuned many other aspects. A detailed changelog will be provided when I have more time. Approaching to excelence, give it a try. 😉

Get ready because it's coming more, the build I'm currently on is really really sweat. I'll upload it tomorrow.

To be fair, it’s not black magic. The core of the game is excellent (I laugh when people blame Frostbite engine), but EA releases it buried under layers designed to make it feel casual, arcade-like, and overly competitive, because that’s what they think people want. What you mostly need to do is unleash that core. It takes time, but AI is incredibly helpful and the key to taking it to the next level.
 
@amartingil Nice!! waiting for the new one!! the only feedback I could give you is to fix the centrebacks don't mark the striker well, then they create gaps and you can score goals easily, but i really like the rest of the GP

@amartingil I played a couple of matches but I don't know if it happens to you also, a lot of matches with a lot of goals, like 4-3, 5-2... a others are like realistic, 2-0 or 1-0. But for now never a tie. I play on World Class, I think that in Legend the game start to broken itselft with AI.
What's your thoughts about it?

The mod is designed to be played on World Class difficulty, with all sliders set to 50 and pass/shot assistance set to semi.

In my experience with the latest update, the CPU has received a major upgrade, it now plays much more intelligently. You can easily get punished if you defend poorly or play too aggressively against a strong team. If you don’t manage possession carefully, you'll likely struggle to keep the ball.

The gameplay dynamics really depend on both your mindset and the opponent’s. When both teams play offensively and press high, matches can become more open and lead to higher scores. It’s a completely different experience playing Liverpool vs. Barcelona compared to Atletico vs. Juventus.

Personally, the highest-scoring match I’ve had recently was a 2-3, but I’ve also had plenty of 0-0 draws. I’m planning to do a longer playthrough this weekend to thoroughly test how the AI behaves over a wider sample of games.
 
@amartingil could be, although the previous version to this, was a touch faster gameplay, gave me the feeling of having to think faster to act then had more draws or wins or loses on matches. Now the GP is slower but I feel that it can also play against this because it gives you more time to react and create accurate plays or passes. my humble opinion haha

I'm working on a new update that will enhance ball physics and player movement which will probably slow down overall pace.

The files do not require a specific order as they all affect different files.
nice gameplay and physics. however how would you arrange it in fmm? plus any incompatibility issues?
I barely have time to work on the mod lately, let alone create different versions. That said, there shouldn’t be any compatibility issues between FMT and FET files. The only thing to watch out for is if you're using other mods that tweak the same files. In that case, the one placed lower in the load order will take priority.
hi, may i ask the reason behind the players resize?
Basically, the default pitch-to-player proportions look off to me, they make the pitch feel unrealistically small. The thing is, the downscaling can make players look tiny in some cutscenes. If that bothers you, feel free not to use it. However, keep in mind that the mod is tuned with the downscaling applied, so it might not play as intended without it, as player spacing will be tighter.
 
Man, if you find a way of getting rid of the stupid 1 v 1 defending mechanic, you would be a legend. Like ask chatgpt to copy fiifa 17 code 😀
Fifa17 code is not open. You could though, try to edit some of the initfs with some values in the locale.ini of FIFA 17. Either the locale.ini or ai_default.ini, or any similar initfs related to gameplay.

But probably that won't change the 1v1 mechanic.

In old FIFA there was a file called default.csv related to debug lines that allowed to activate and deactivate certain behaviour of the game. That could be useful aswell if it's still around, though I doubt it.
 
Yes, it will be more than just a TU19 update. Aiming to make it jaw dropping. The real authentic gameplay. The release its near. It will worth. Be patient 😉
in the meantime, could you make a downsize mod in such a way that it stands in the middle between the default size and the one already in your mod? like players a touch bigger than how they are now, but still smaller than vanilla? that would be superb

Unfortunately, changing player size requires manually editing around 300 different body types one by one. If FIFA Editor Tool allowed importing JSON files, you could simply ask ChatGPT to do a batch modification. Without that feature, everything has to be done manually through the software interface. Hopefully, this functionality will be added in the future, as it would greatly speed up the modding process.

Regarding to Live Editor, I know there was a gameplay add-on last year that allowed tweaking gameplay on the fly, without restarting the game repeatedly. Sadly, it hasn’t been integrated this year. I’m not sure why, as it was one of Live Editor’s best features. It’s still possible to do this through a Lua script, but that method is limited to certain types of values.

I might try to make a script that performs a batch downsizing to half the current reduction, but it’s not high on my priority list right now.

Now I am playing with the error shooting slider (something like 80 for USER & CPU) because I feel the top teams or 2 stars teams can score so easily, and with that modification I can avoid high scores like 3-3 or 4-3.

Happy to see you're enjoying it. If what to feel what is the ultimate experience, play Boca vs River game. That game is the best representation of what I am trying to achieve.

I am now aiming to make 5 star teams games feel in a similar way to 4 stars, because they still feel a bit arcadish. I have removed many boosts from play styles plus I have reduced the overall pace of the game, but it is still short, and the experience differs too much when you play France vs England to when you play Fulham vs West ham for example. I think the.main issue is that stats impact spike when attributes are over 80. But I think I know the way to sort it.

Yes, absolutely. I'm Argentinean and a Boca fan, so I'm playing career mode with the LTA Mod, which is absolutely beautiful.

Another thing I noticed that is probably related to the ball physics is that when you clear the ball or make long passes with a lot of power, the ball physics break down and it turns into a missile.

That was the strangest thing I noticed in the gameplay. Hopefully you can fix it for #TU20.
