Will Konami fix the lag issue when playing PES 2008 online?!

I've played pes 6 which is all smooth. Pes 2008 is very smooth and fast when playing offline but during online it lags alot the shots seem jumpery and when the ball movess on the ground it causes a lag almost like skipping. konami say that they are working very hard to fix this problem.

I just wanted to know from you guys who played PES in the previous versions of pes. Was it always laggy online in the beginning?
And another important question, was there a PES game in the past that has always been laggy during online play throughout the year?
This is quite important so that we are really sure that pes 2008 will not remain laggy when playing online through the whole year after all we are going to be playing it till 2009 and konami should really seriously consider thinking to sort this out if they are going to make their customers happy.
How long approximately will it take till they fix this problem from the experiences that you have had with previous PES titles?
 
Last year for PES6, the lag was terrible for WEEKS before they sorted it out. And they NEVER sorted the server completely. For the whole year, you couldn't access your match results on 1 player because they disabled it to help with the lag problem.

And of course any online gamers know that for the last 6 weeks or so, when PES2008 was due to be relseased, the PES6 lag returned with a vengeance.

I don't think Seabass has enough people to work on the game. The same 10 people programming it for the last 10 years is not enough. Konami should give him more staff.

can someone give tips to optimize Lags and fps on online ?

I play high 1680*1050 offline > nolag
I play high 1680*1050 online > Big lag + Fps drop
I play medium 1680*1050 online > lag + Fps drop

Any ideas ?
 
It's not the servers, its the game. The servers are only there to launch peer 2 peer games.

The only way this can be fixed is by patches.
