The Game Speed Problem - Konami's Fault.

Some peoples game is way too fast , others too slow. How come we never had any problems before with pes ? In my opinion Konami has fked up and need to get a patch out pronto. I myself have the game superfast on my monitor (60 hz , v synch on , 1280 x 1024 rez) , yet on my lcd when i have the res at 1360 x 760 it plays at the "right " speed.

Furthermore when we can play online on monday , if people how are playing at different speeds how the hell will you be able to have a good game ?

Expect to hear much much more about this......

Your LCD is a bigger screen and you say it plays at the right speed. Your Monitor is a smaller screen and you say it looks to fast. Have you ever played FPS games or racing games in a window, they appear quicker, maybe that the problem.. the size of the screen and what you are used to.

I cannot see what the resolution would change the speed at which the game plays at.

I see what your saying but no the speed difference ie like comparing a tortoise and to a rabbit.

Force 60hz refresh rate via your graphics card driver and then turn on vsync in the drivers. Vsync is very important to play the game at the speed its supposed to. I had Vsync off in my drivers and the game was running super fast, as soon as i turned it on it returned to normal pace.

Ahh i just realised that old style monitors had a much higher refresh rate than LCDs at default. Your graphics options must be set to have the refresh rate the SAME as the monitors, that's why you see a difference. Most LCDs default at 60Hz (i.e. 60fps) which is why it plays at the "right" speed as you put it with the LCD. Check what I said up there ^^ and it should be fixed for your old monitor.

Of course Konami should've made sure that an increase in FPS should not affect the speed of gameplay :/ i've never seen that in any other game O.o

What I find, is that if the game is running at 100% proper speed when monitor is set to 60Hz, setting monitor to say 85Hz results in game running at 140% speed.....which just looks bloody silly.

Bunch of amatuers.

Exactly since 85-60=25
and 25/60 = 0.41 = 41% extra speed which matches your observations :).

You might have v-sync turned off in your graphics driver settings.

Enable v-sync in Pes 2008 settings and put wait for vertical sync to 'Application preference' in drivers Direct3D settings.

V-Sync ON fixed the issue for me also!

Running a 19" TFT @ 75Hz 1024x768 7900GTX 512MB

Asus 8800GTS 320mb is on route from the supplier ^^

v-sync doesnt have anything to do with the speed of the game. Only fps! You can easily have 200 fps in a game with out the game going faster. V-sync is used to reduce tearing in the picture.

First my game ran perfectly - then suddenly - without any change in settings or drivers or anything - the game run in double speed. Really annoying. But hopefully Konami will patch this bug.

I don't think the game is too fast - it is certain parts of the game that are too fast.

For instance, the speed bursts with the ball. This is unrealistic, there is no way one player can run side by side with the ball and outrun the player without the ball - and keeping such close control; it is just not realistic.

Ball speed. In matters of long balls this is unrealistically fast. It's like the ball is dead weight once it goes into the air when you are just lobbing the ball (switching the field). This needs to be addressed as well.

Other than that, I enjoy the game - the CPU is magic in cutting through the middle of my defense though, but I think it can be managed.

believe me - on my computer the game is too fast. It's like all the players is on a cocktail of EPO and Speed.

*edit* - hmmmm....the problem seem to have been fix with the new Nvidia beta driver v169.01
