I have installed the game fine on PC. But once i start the game it closes down after around 2-3 seconds sayin "Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 has encountered a problem and must close". I don't know why this is happening. My computer meets all the requirements for the game. Can anyone help me?:((
 
using vista by any chance..i had this same thing set the games exe to compatibilty mode windows xp sp2 and tick run as administrator and problem should be solved

No mate it is Windows xp sp2. I have no idea what the problem is.
 
I'd just reinstall the game and see if that fixes it. have you tried that?
 
finding solutions to this kind of problem is really difficult

try reinstalling everything(windows too), if nothing works, probably the cause is some defective hardware (ram or gpu, most commonly)
 
what pixel/vertex shader you got and how much videoRAM?

Have you tried playing pes 2008 on low quality?

Ever thought of installing kitserver that often fixes the problem.

It is impossible to not be able to run a game if you meet all the system specs, there's no David Blaine or some magician power that will stop it from running. System specs are like qualification grades. Without good grades you can't go university. Without good system specs you can't run games its as simple as that.

According to konami my graphics card isn't supported. Its a GeForce 6200SE
TurboCache(TM).

Surely this is a good enough card to play this game. I'm sure i have read on various boards people using this card to play PES. Anyone use this card?

Yeah but its important what the card contains. Pixel shader vertex shader and video ram is the most important thing. Without these things you cannot run games.
If you look at cards like Nvidia Geforce 8800 it will contain high video memory like 512. pixel shader 3 or 4. I don't have that card. I have ATI Xpress 200 which contains 2 pixel saders and 64 MB Video RAM.You need a minimum of 64 MB video ram with 1.1 pixels for low quality. I run it on medium and with kitserver its very smooth.

Yes you may have heard some people play PES with the same card as yours. But is it PES 2008? Be sure what PES game they played cos it could've been an older PES game that they played.

Have you got enough free space on your computer? Try freeing some space and see if it works.

Search the forum for "KITSERVER" and download that and install it in your PES 2008 directory and try running the game it should work.

try installing the game on another computer to see if the same problem occurs. It could be a defective CD Rom.

Yeah kitserver don't help the problem either. To be honest i'm just gonna take the game back as its pissed me off. Cheers for your help though mate.
 
You won't regret about returning it back to the shop, m8. PES 2008 sucks anyway and for online play total waste. I would replace it with FIFA 08 if you already have it keep your money or wait till pes 2009 or FIFA 09 or buy a better game:DD
