Fenerbahce star Roberto Carlos has won the 2008 Golden Foot Award, topping a vote by fans around the world. Among the 10 nominees for the 2008 award were Buffon, goalkeeper of Juventus FC and Francesco Totti, captain of AS Roma. The Brazilian left back of Fenerbahce Roberto Carlos received the Golden Foot Award directly from the hands of HSH the Prince Albert II of Monaco. The award, for footballers 29 years and over, takes into acoount individual and team results as well as a player's personality and the esteem of the public and football experts.
Roberto Carlos' footprints are moulded into the Champions Promenade in Monaco.
