*looks across at my PSPGo that hasnt moved in 4 months* hmmmm...

I DO like the PSP, but as I say, I've not touched the Go in months (literally, its sitting next to my stereo and I have to actually reach over it to turn the stereo on!)... so not sure.

Sounds great, but the reason I havent touched it is probably 'i' devices. First the iPhone, then since I got rid of that, the iPad is my go-to handheld device. Cheap, (mostly) high quality games that also does so much more.

Its like the old decision of having to carry around an iPod AND a phone (instead of it all being integrated), just not sure when I'd choose PSP over iPad and thats the challenge I think Sony face.

Definitely interested. Looks very nice, interesting features, good resolution, games list is superb. If the battery life is decent and it's not a silly price, I'll be getting one.

I was very interested in the 3DS but after seeing the PSP2 and games, Sony will get my money now.

Day 1 as long as its not too expensive, I hope it has a good battery.

Eurogamer has been told 4-5 hours.

As my workmate just pointed out, how impressive will it be when it actually comes out? Phones are improving at a ridiculous rate and by the time the PSP2 is released, it could already be quite outdated.

Dual core phones will be out very soon, I can't see a four core phone being released this year. They've probably got two years maybe until the others catch up.

Battery seems OK I guess.

Bought a PSP a few years ago, but have hardly played it. Never really have the time, and when I do, like on holiday, the screen is shit because everything gets reflected.

i cant see quad cores on phones this year. duals are not even out yet

Wow nice vid Dags (apart from the annoying voice).

I'm loving the dual analogue sticks. Not too fussed about the touch screen/touch pad stuff or the six axis tbh. Probably wait for it come down in price before buying.

I'm getting a 3DS though, when the decent games come out - they look great.

Day one. Looks amazing and pretty much has all the bases covered in terms of wanted features. OLED display, high resolution, incredibly powerful chipset, dual analog sticks, touchscreen and touchpad, gyroscope, digital PSP backwards compatibility, strong dev support, cameras, 3G, compatibility with PlayStation Suite titles and strong online infrastructure. Only down side is that its over 6 months away. After I pre-ordered the 3DS for £200 I would be happy to pay £250-300 for this.

While phones are indeed moving at an incredible pace I doubt they will be anywhere close to the NGP in terms of raw power for quite a while still. Were only seeing dual core setups in Android smartphone in Q1 (mainly the Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset, were still waiting for the Snapdragon dual cores). The iPad 2's SOC, the A5, is meant to be a dual core ARM Cortex A9 with a single core SGX 540 with between 512MB-1GB of RAM. The iPhone 5 is meant to be the same as the iPad 2.

In comparison the Sony NGP has a quad core ARM Cortex A9 with a quad core SGX 543 setup and is also rumoured to have 1GB of RAM. I would estimate that it would take smartphones at least 2 years from the NGP's launch in order for them to eclipse it in terms of spec.

God damn it Dags!! :(

That does look really good - didnt even think about the dual analogues yesterday, which will mean FPS's will be well catered.

All the touch screen and tilting stuff brings it on par with the iPhone (Angry Birds day 1? LOL)

I think its going to be £299? But certainly warming too it. Hate being a gaming geek sometimes...

Not sure about you guys, but I always found my hands cramped up with the lack of lowerhand support (the 2 ends of the dualpad). Looking at the guy controlling gives me the impression that the same issue's will be present.

However it does look amazing! That vid is great.

3G as well, so those FPS's can be played online anywhere that has a 3G signal too.

Honestly guys, while it all looks good and the graphics are amazing, unless you are using your handheld games console every week. Wait for an inevitable price drop or a NGPgo. Ever since getting my Go I have used it every week 2-3 times. Look at PBB, his' is sitting beside his stereo. The sheer price of the 3DS and what this will release at will make them a crazy expensive piece of kit to have if it's going to wane after few weeks.

While it will be BC for PSP digital media, unless Sony are going to give me more than 5 licences that can fook off. 5 Licences for PS3/PSP is rubbish, it should be 5 Licences for PS3, 5 for PSP, the PS3 cannot play PSP software bar minis; but if you have an account on there and use the same account for PSP they still count towards your 5 licences, and I am not going to deactivate my Go for this, as that would make the Go obsolete.

for me this device is perfect. i commute to work mon to fri and playing a psp2 would be great.

i have a psp and use to use it A LOT but only stopped using it recently.

best £200 i spent on a psp for ages. got it on launch. loved it

So how would it work? I would need to buy the PS3 version of game "X" and when I want to continue to play it on the PSP get that version of the game also?
