PS2 Version Work On PS3?

Can anyone confirm the PS2 version works on the PS3 with the latest firmware 2.10, and does it run perfectly.

I am fed up with the PS3 version should I get 2008 for the PS2 or the cheaper PES6?
 
I amp playing the PS2 version on a 60gb PS3 it works fine but no wide screen support, in fact it's a better game than the PS3 Version.
 
Thanks a lot guys, i bought pes 2008 for the ps2 in the end, its so much better its actually enjoyable playing this game!
