Bought it on release date, but hated it and never got used to it (and old PC couldn't play it at top setting), so settled back into PES06 and have avoided the editing sites for a good while.
Just got a brand spanking new laptop and it can handle it perfectly.
I'm thinking of giving it one more shot.
What advances have there been in the PC editing world? I had a quick, but seems a lots been happening.

What level is kitserver at? Can kits / balls / stadia be changed with ease now from the menu screens?

Is there a good level of patches / graphic changes / new sounds etc...?

Any real 'unique selling points' that make it superiour to PES6?

thanks!

I'm one of the few that will say PES2008 is evolving into something better than PES6. The only thing that is keeping my from going forward with 2008 is that you are limited to something like 16 stadiums (someone correct me if I"m wrong and there is actually a stadium server that I"ve missed).

On 2008 I'm using the Evolution Patch and I only play single player (I've heard multiplayer is crap).

The level of realism is higher in 2008 and I feel like it plays more realistically than PES6. People complain about players running out of stamina too fast and passing is sloppier, keepers punch too often, etc, etc.

People support the stamina argument with "well chelsea plays with the same line up all year so why do my guys get tired after two games". What these people don't realize is that real players do get tired but players like Drogba stay in the line-up in real life anyway because he is 200% better than the next in line even when he is exhausted. So often the complaints about the game are fairly weak.

Overall 2008 is a step in the right direction for PES but it did not meet everyone's expectations so there is a huge bandwagon of disappointed fans.

So you asked if there are any selling points that make it better than PES6, and the answer is realism.
