PES 5 PC Game Won't Start - Help Please

I have just installed PES 5 PC, but when I start the game all I get is the egg timer mouse cursor for a couple of seconds and then nothing. No windows open or messages display etc, just nothing happens. In Task Manager I can see PES5.exe runs for a few seconds.

Any ideas?

My PC is an AMD Athlon X2 64 3800+ with 2GB of RAM, my graphics card is a Gigabyte RADEON X600 (according to Device Manager).
