PES 2013 & Future: Possible to play each others' opponent in tournament mode?

Don't have PES for the last couple of years because I heard it was not possible to move your gamepad over to the other side and you could only control the user teams.

Hence, this disallows the prospect of your friends playing your opponent if that team was not selected prior to the tournament.

Was this fixed in PES 2013? Do we have any confirmed news on this for PES 2014? If not, it'd have to be another year of Fifa..
 
For consoles, there is no kitserver.

However, I faintly remember people mentioning that it was possible again from PES2013. Those fans who have the game, can you correct this sentence if it's not right?
