PES 2008 CPU 100 FREEZE

I have a problem whenever I play PES 2008 I cannot even play until half time. The game always freezes and when I look on the task manager the cpu is at full load. When I play in training I can play for as long as I want. I can play PES 2009 perfectly on high. Can anyone suggest any solutions.
